Corvette Museum May Leave Some of the Sinkhole Corvettes As Is

The sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum has been covered extensively by reporters from around the world.

But a CNN.com report out last week has some new information that we haven’t heard before.

CNN interviewed renowned Corvette artist Dana Forrester, who’s also lead Corvette restoration member of the museum’s board of directors, and he has some interesting ideas about what to do with the sinkhole.

[ACCIDENT] DUI Corvette Driver Faces Charges After Crash in Kentucky

A Brownsville, Ky, driver faces multiple charges after a Saturday afternoon joyride in a 1993 Corvette turned into a wild airborne crash.

Miraculously, both the driver and the passenger escaped the accident with their lives.

Christopher Snelling, 41, faces the criminal charges after the black Corvette he was driving eastbound on Mammoth Cave Road left the road at a high rate of speed, between 85 and 90 mph, and went airborne for 160 feet before crashing into the ground and making a large indention.

A Corvette C7 Stingray Police Car on display at a car show in Sweden. This 2014 Corvette Stingray is dressed in black with white doors and the word “POLICE” emblazoned on the doors and hood. There is also an Arctic White Corvette Stingray with the Police livery but its lacking the light bar like that on the Black Stingray.

The police car livery is similar to and may have been inspired by Barricade, the Saleen Mustang Decepticon police car in the last Transformers movie.

After seeing the condition of the first Corvette to fall into the National Corvette Museum’s Sinkhole and the last one out, it’s pretty hard to be excited about the retrieval of the 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette. But the final Corvette is now out and that marks the completion of “Operation Corvette Plus” which is what the workers dubbed the rescue of the “Great 8″ Corvettes that fell into the 40-ft sinkhole on February 12th.

Corvette Plant's UAW Members Approve Strike Authorization

Members of Bowling Green’s United Auto Workers Local 2164 voted overwhelming to authorize a strike if their concerns over safety and quality aren’t addressed by General Motors and plant management. UAW chapter President Eldon Renaud said the vote passed with 93.3% approval.

[VIDEO] The 2009 1.5 Millionth Corvette Recovered from the Corvette Museum Sinkhole

On Thursday at the National Corvette Museum, workers lifted the seventh of eight Corvettes lost in the sinkhole back to solid ground. The recovered Corvette was the 2009 1.5 Millionth car and was only discovered last week after workers vacuumed enough dirt out of the hole to reveal its location.
