At the 2014 Corvette reveal in Detroit, we were talking with Corvette’s Exterior Design Manager Kirk Bennion about the new car. He was holding the front license plate holder and wanted to show us how those who live in a state that mandates a front license plate would affix it to their C7 Corvette.
After years of planning, designing and engineering, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray made its stunning debut tonight in Detroit. For those who appreciate the past, but look forward to the future, this is your Corvette Stingray – a finely tuned trifecta of technology, design and performance. A new Corvette worthy of the Stingray’s name and heritage.
The excitement and anticipation of the first all-new Corvette in nearly a decade continues to gain momentum as the unveiling of the C7 approaches Sunday night.
Corvette faithful are hoping they can put stock in what General Motors CEO and Chairman Dan Akerson is saying about the C7 Corvette, due to be unveiled on Sunday night.
“It’s going to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made,” he gushed to the media on Wednesday. “It’s a real statement about the new GM, today’s GM, and it’s a statement about Chevrolet and our prospects.”
Next up in our Corvette Enthusiast’s Preview of the Scottsdale Auctions, we review the Corvettes available from Gooding and Company.
Gooding & Company focuses on “blue chip” investment cars and usually sets a few world record prices each year in Scottsdale. Gooding is known for selling exceptional quality classic automobiles and producing the highest prices paid for exotic cars at such esteemed venues as Pebble Beach and Amelia Island in addition to Scottsdale and they have the statistics to back up those claims. The average price realized for a car throughout 2012 was $640,635 per car.
It’s been a little while since we’ve done a poll so let’s get to it. The question today has to do with the official reveal of the C7 Corvette this Sunday evening. Assuming that only one C7 Corvette will be on the stage when the curtain is lifted, what do you think the color will be? We’ll use 2013′s colors and substitute the now retired Supersonic Blue and Inferno Orange for a generic “other”. Ready to play?
Continuing our Corvette Enthusiast’s Preview of the Scottsdale Auctions, we next take a look at the Russo and Steele auction which will feature over 40 Corvettes.
Russo & Steele expect to auction 700 cars in their five day event hosted in their impressive spired tents. The Scottsdale 2013 catalog has just been released and it is filled with sports, muscle, hot rods and customs, the types of cars they specialize in. Quality consignments are a major focus and they try hard to offer individual personalized attention as well as a commitment to not let a car get “lost” because of too many consignments.
