Corvette-Powered Sin R1 Supercar Makes Its Debut at Goodwood

Some may say the 1960s and 1970s were the Golden Age of the muscle car.

But the figures that we keep hearing from cars of today make us think that THIS is the Golden Age for horsepower-craving enthusiasts.

Take, for example, one car you may never even have heard of – the Sin R1, which claims to deliver 0 to 60 times of 2.5 seconds with its 6.2-liter LS3 V8 borrowed from the C6 Corvette.

Historic 1963 Corvette Z06 Race Car Invited to the Concours d'Elegance of America

This year the prestigious Concours d”Elegance of America is taking place on Sunday, July 28, at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan, and has a special category in recognition of the fiftieth anniversary of the 1963 Corvette.

Two of the six 1963 Corvettes in the Corvette Category will be Z06 race cars. Perhaps the star of the entire event will be the Z06 originally owned and raced by Dick Lang with an impressive and storied race history from the early and mid 1960′s when the car took on the legendary Shelby Cobras which were terrorizing the race tracks.

[VIDEO] Faces of GM: The 2014 Corvette Stingray Lands in Europe

Last week we told you that two C7 Corvette Stingrays were headed to Europe for testing in Germany, Switzerland, France and Holland as part of GM’s standard quality control. Chevrolet Europe’s technical manager Patrick Herrmann has been tasked to lead the tests and as a special bonus, he will be sharing his experiences on social media.

Herrmann was recently interviewed for a video to be posted on Faces of GM and as you’ll see, he is pretty excited about his latest project.

Last night at the Major League Baseball All Star game at Citi Field, the Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera did what he’s been doing for the last 15 years – closing out games. Entering the game and taking the mound in the 8th inning to the tune of “Enter Sandman“, the reliever shut down the National League and helped the American League win the mid-summer classic for the first time since 2009.

For his efforts, Mo Rivera was awarded the Ted Williams MVP award and takes home the keys to a Lagnua Blue 2014 Corvette Stingray.

A medical helicopter was used to transport a West Milford, New Jersey Corvette driver to the hospital after he crashed his yellow 2003 coupe into a tree last Thursday morning.

Anthony Venturella, 57, was believed to be on his way to work at 5:42 a.m. when the one-car crash occurred on Route 23 South near the Kinnelon border.
