A woman’s brush with death has given a new purpose for her black 1974 Corvette.

Jennifer Barnett knew something just wasn’t right with her body last year. She found a large lump in her left breast in August 2013, and about a month later, doctors gave her the grim news – she had stage IV breast cancer that had apparently spread to her liver.

She embarked on a year of chemotherapy aimed to keep the cancer from growing, and by February, tests showed that the breast tumor had indeed shrunk – but the tumor in her liver had not.

Although a move has been rumored for the last couple of weeks, we’ve confirmed today that the Bloomington Gold Corvette Show will be leaving Champaign, Ill. where the show has been hosted for the last two years on the grounds of the University of Illinois.

A representative from Bloomington Gold tells us a new location will be announced soon.

Three GM Designers to Paint a Corvette Stingray During a Fundraising Gala at a Detroit Museum

The 2014 Corvette Stingray has already been acclaimed around the world for its beautiful and trend-setting design.

Now three General Motors car designers are going to take it a step further, helping the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) Gala Fundraiser today.

The three GM Design employees – Casey Swanseger, 30; Tyler Mars, 28; and Haneif Katebi, 25 – will be using paint and brush on a 2014 Stingray, bringing to life Detroit’s “creative corridor” made up of industries that merge art, technology, and business.

This 1962 Corvette Earns a Blue Ribbon Despite Squirting a Judge with Washer Fluid

Doug Kinsman was just following orders when one of the judges at a prestigious car show asked him to see if the windshield washers worked on his 1962 Corvette.

Kinsman’s car was being judged last month at Cobble Beach when judge John Ballard requested the operation of the washers.

Kinsman had never tried them so he said he didn’t know if they would work or not.

He soon found out that they did squirt washer fluid, lots of it, in fact – just not in the right place.
