March 2011 Corvette Sales

More good news from General Motors regarding Corvettes. Sales of America’s sports car continue to gain momentum as outlined in GM’s monthly sales report for March 2011. 1,163 Corvettes were delivered last month, a 17.3% increase over the 955 Corvettes delivered during March 2010. This was the best sales month for Corvettes since July 2010 and the first 1,000+ selling month since October 2010. For the calendar year, Corvette sales were 2,839, a 16.7% increase over last year’s 2,433 Corvettes sold January-March 2010.

No More Cyber Gray or Crystal Red for 2011 Corvettes

Well, it looks like you can write off Cyber Gray, Crystal Red and Jetstream Blue as colors available for the 2011 Corvette. Jetstream Blue was already being phased out of this year’s remaining 2011 production, but the earthquake and resulting tsunami in Japan has affected several other colors that have automakers scrambling. And now we are hearing that customers with existing Corvette orders in the system are being asked to choose new colors.

The first seminar was held Friday afternoon and the topics were the latest updates on the 2011 Corvette as well as some non-specific C7 Corvette news.

Fans of Corvette and readers of this blog are familiar with the extra attention Corvette owners can receive from the factory as well as some of the advanced personalization options when buying a new Corvette. If you thought the ZR1/Z06 Engine Build Experience was cool, wait until you hear about the new PIN RPO. Yes, Corvette owners can now choose your own VIN. This is great for collectors who want to match an older Corvette’s sequence number with a brand new Corvette. February 2011 Corvette Sales

We got the February 2011 sales figures from General Motors and its been a rare moment when we can say Corvette sales are up over the previous month as well as up in the year to date figure. Last month, 955 Corvettes were delivered to new homes, a 53% increase from the mere 624 Corvettes sold in the same month in 2010. For the calendar year, 1,676 Corvettes have been delivered which is a 13.4% increase over the first two months of 2010.

Jetstream Blue Metallic to be Phased out of 2011 Corvette Production

Corvette Conti says that 2011 will be the last year for Jetstream Blue Metallic (RPO 85U). GM will phase the color out early and has already issued a final order date for those that still wish to build a 2011 Corvette in Jetstream Blue. The last Dealer Order submission process to submit orders with Jetstream Blue will occur during the cycle that starts Thursday, March 3, 2011, and ends Tuesday, March 8, 2011.

Well that day is here as we have pictures of the first 2011 Corvette Grand Sport convertible made with the new Blue soft top. January 2010 Corvette Sales

GM released their first sales figures for 2011 and it shows 721 Corvettes were delivered to new owners in January. This is 15.6% off the 854 Corvettes sold last year in January 2010. In fact, the 721 Corvettes delivered in January is 2nd worst month for Corvettes sales since we began tracking the monthly sales figures in January 2006.
