With the seventh-generation Corvette due to be unveiled Sunday and more than 20 other vehicle launches planned globally in 2013, General Motors announced today that it will also begin a new Chevrolet advertising campaign next month.

With Corvettes definitely in the news these days because of the impending unveiling of the C7, GM decided to throw a little fuel on the fire and send four of their most important cars in the General Motors Heritage Center collection to Leno’s garage for The Tonight Show host to drool over.
We know that for the 2014 model year, the high performance LS engines are going bye-bye for Corvette and in their place will be the new Generation 5 LT1 V8s. But that doesn’t mean GM is going to stop building the LS7 and LS9 engines for other applications. Thanks to some sleuthing at Camaro5.com, it does look like Chevrolet is planning on using the 505 hp LS7 engine for the 2014 Camaro.
Ever since the C7 Corvette has been mentioned, we’ve heard how General Motors and Chevrolet wanted to appeal to a younger audience with the car as it heads into more than 60 years of production.
That premise has carried over to the final stages before the seventh generation is unveiled to the public on Jan. 13, 2013 in Detroit.
Clay Dean, global director of advanced design at GM, recently explained the background behind Chevrolet’s decision to work with a game designer and allow the use of a camouflaged C7 in a game before the real car is even available to drive.
One of the criticisms that has long dogged the Corvette Team throughout the C6′s production has been the perceived lack of quality in the Corvette’s interior. We’ve been hearing about the how the 2014 C7 Corvette will rectify these issues and the third video trailer released this morning on Chevy’s One13Thirteen.com countdown site takes direct aim at the C7′s new interior. Called, “CRAFT”, it sets to redefine the narrative by showing the construction of a hand-crafted interior featuring fine materials.
For a high-powered sports car, the Chevrolet Corvette doesn’t act like it at the gas pump.
Now comes word that the Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, Ky., where the Corvette is put together is pretty energy-efficient, too.
The Bowling Green facility has become one of 54 to meet a voluntary energy-reduction challenge from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
General Motors released their November Sales report earlier this week and Corvette sales are remaining steady. In November 2012, a total of 1,104 Corvettes were sold. This is 21.3% more than the 910 Corvettes sold during November 2011. For the calendar year to date, 12,841 Corvettes have been sold between January-November 2012. This is 5.9% better than 2011′s Corvette sales of 12,126 during the same months.
