I might of went a little overboard as I was putting together this week’s award-winning image gallery featuring 1963-67 Corvettes, but I kept finding great pictures of second generation Corvettes to share. So for this week, we’ll have a slightly expanded Midyear Monday photo gallery to start off the week.
If you’re a big Corvette restomod fan and you also love the looks of the classic split window coupes, listen up — eBay has a car that might make you reach for your checkbook. The mint condition restomod coupe with only 2,124 miles on the clock is based on a 2009 Z06 coupe and wears a custom body by Karl Kustom Corvettes resembling the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray split window coupe. The interior has been refinished by Karls for a more classic look of the original SWC.
We’ve all heard and read stories about Corvette owners who, for one reason or another, sold their beloved Vette, but were unable to get the car out of their minds. Years later, when their life circumstances may have changed, they manage to track down and bring their fiberglass friend back into the family.
Scott Bachmann, in the Metropolitan Detroit area, took this story one generation further by finding and repurchasing his late father’s Corvette, and bringing it back home to his family. He was interviewed by WWJ’s Roberta Jasina to find out more about this touching story.
We’ve been telling you for months about the impressive Hennessey upgrades available for the C7 Corvette.
Now you have a chance to buy a 2014 Stingray Hennessey HPE650 Supercharged Serial #001.
That’s right, the Texas tuning shop is offering the very first HPE650 for sale right now on eBay at a “Buy It Now” price of $107,950. So far, no bids have been placed, but 13 people are watching the action that continues for three more days.
Two police officers in Millville, N.J., are under investigation after the green 1974 Corvette they were riding in crashed into a church.
The incident, which happened on the evening of Sept. 3, only became public Tuesday after The Daily Journal newspaper asked law enforcement officials about the crash and criminal review now underway by the Prosecutor’s Office.
While the initial photo shows a Laguna Blue Z06 Corvette and the graphic says “Corvette Z06″, the video actually is of a Corvette Stingray Z51 Coupe. Take a look at the rear spoiler which seems to have a clear “wicker-bill” like attachment that runs across the center top.
The sighting of the Corvette Stingray at the Nurburgring comes after the news of the 2015 Corvette Z06 testing (and crashing!) at the famous track.

Just got this alert in from our friends at the National Corvette Museum:
Bowling Green’s iconic sports car will be highlighted on Discovery Channel’s “How It’s Made: Dream Cars” show tonight. A crew filmed for four days at the Corvette Plant, and one day at the Museum recently to create the program. The 30 minute show on the Corvette will air for the first time this evening, October 2, at 10 pm EST. A replay will be available on Friday morning at 11:00 am ET as well.
Exotics Racing in Las Vegas bills itself as “The Ultimate Driving Experience.”
Chloe Mortaud, winner of the Miss France title in 2009, certainly wouldn’t argue.
As this video opens, a helicopter lands in the desert, and out comes the 25-year-old beauty queen, dressed in a low-cut black blouse with spike heels.
