We got great news tonight from General Motors regarding the production status of the 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon limited edition. Corvette’s Product Marketing Manager Harlan Charles has confirmed that the Supersonic Blue or Inferno Orange Z06s will be available for ordering from your Chevrolet dealer beginning on February 21, 2011.
Good news for Corvette owners. IntelliChoice has named the Chevrolet Corvette one of its Best Overall Values for 2011 models. This video is awesome on so many levels. First, the lure of hooning a rented car is strong motivation enough, but when that rental is a Velocity Yellow Corvette ZHZ from Hertz, your sense of right and wrong goes out the door. But the real beauty of this video is the relationship between father and daughter. She will never forget the day her dad taught her how to do donuts in a yellow Corvette and believe me, neither will he.
Remember the world’s worst custom painted Corvette, the Dragon Vette? Apparently it has undergone several more transformations and is now Atomic Orange with a Black tail and wheels. Is it me, or is all that paint turning the Corvette into a wide-body?
Here is a 1969 Corvette barn car found somewhere in Maryland. As the seller/buyer was attempting to open the garage door, it basically came apart revealing the C3 Stingray coupe inside. The Corvette was parked sometime in 1979 by the second owner and is still wearing the tags from that year.
This poor driver in a Silver C6 Corvette was attempting to drive on I-30 near Buckner Blvd in Dallas but the roads were proving almost too much for the 436-hp rear wheel drive sports car and this traffic-copter caught it all. His frustration rises to the point where he actually gets out of the car and shrugs his shoulders in the near defeat. But the Corvette owner isn’t defeated and soon he is back behind the wheel and slipping and sliding his way to what we hope is a nice warm garage.

A man from the village of Greendale in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin (it’s a village, not a town) is looking for three tickets to this Sunday’s Super Bowl. Instead of hitting the usual venues like Stub Hub or eBay, he turned to Craigslist with this unique offer: “Trade 1979 Corvette for Super Bowl tickets”.
As a 1966 Corvette owner, I have a special affinity for other ’66 Vettes. So when I was walking the auction staging area at the 2011 Mecum Kissimmee auction last week I came to dead stop when my eyes fell upon this beautiful 1966 L36 427/390 hp Corvette Convertible painted in Laguna Blue.
This black C5 Corvette was minding its own business when it was struck by a silver car. The silver car was trying to avoid getting on the expressway when it switched lanes suddenly and collided with the black Corvette. The Corvette struck a van and then jumped the curb and hit a palm tree outside the television studios of KIII-TV.
