Corvette Museum to Fill Sinkhole and Restore the SkyDome

Since the National Corvette Museum is a non-profit organization, the decision on what to do with the sinkhole in the Skydome ultimately came down to money.

After giving initial signs a few months ago that a portion of the sinkhole would remain as a tourist attraction, the museum’s board of directors voted Saturday instead to fill the hole and restore the building to its previous condition.

[PICS] Forgiato Widebody Corvette Stingray Convertible in Yellow

We’ve been believers in Forgiato’s widebody Corvette Stingrays since they first broke onto the scene at the 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Since then, we’ve been treated to many different flavors in addition to the Aston Martin Blue Coupe that won SEMA’s Design Award for Best Chevrolet Exterior.

The latest widebody on display was posted on Forgiato’s Facebook page last week and shows a bright yellow Corvette wearing 22-inch Forgiato Lavorato ECL wheels that are colored-matched to the new Stingray.

[VIDEO] The 2014 Corvettes at Carlisle Downtown Parade

Nothing like a Corvette parade to end a fantastic weekend at the Corvettes at Carlisle show. We thought the weather might keep many away but in the end turnout was good from Corvette owners who drove from the fairgrounds as well as Carlisle’s residents who line the streets to watch them.

While at the Corvettes at Carlisle show last weekend, we spoke with several sponsors of CorvetteBlogger to get their latest news and to see what we can do to help spread the word to our readers.

[PICS] Man Struggles to a Fit Giant Stuffed Bear in his C5 Corvette Convertible

A few months ago, I wrote about my experience of cramming $300 worth of groceries in a C6 Corvette convertible. You’d be surprised how much a Corvette can hold these days.

But we found a slide show on the Web this week of a man in Alberta, Canada, that has us beat.

The dude apparently forgot what kind of car he was driving when he bought a huge stuffed bear at a Costco store.

[VIDEO] 1967 Corvette Selected for Keith's Choice Award at Corvettes at Carlisle

During the Corvettes at Carlisle weekend, a number of people in the hobby ranging from media types like myself, members of the GM Corvette Team and selected Corvette vendors are given VIP status and sent out to the show field to pick a Corvette for the celebrity choice award. Winning a Celebrity Choice Award for an attendee is a big deal as not only does the winner receive an award, he gets to drive in the Celebrity Choice Parade by the Grandstands on Sunday.

It’s a huge responsibility and one we take serious here at CorvetteBlogger. For this year’s salute to Corvettes at Carlisle’s co-founder Chip Miller, we selected the white 1967 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible owned by Dennis King as Keith’s Choice Award for 2014.

[VIDEO] The Burnout Contest at the 2014 Corvettes at Carlisle

One of our favorite events at Corvettes at Carlisle is the Friday afternoon burnout contest. You’re never quite sure who’s going to show up and once the tires start spinning, anything can happen. This year’s event did not disappoint with three contestants in two white C4s and one custom C5 Corvette plus a demonstration from the father-daughter team of Lance and Ella Miller.
