Who doesn’t love a Corvette attacking the green hell, right? But what makes this video really interesting is that the Grand Sport doing the hot lap is wearing Michigan Manufactuer license plates. [VIDEO] 1960 #3 Le Mans Corvette Historic Return Documentary Trailer

When Lance Miller set out to return the #3 Briggs Cunningham 1960 Corvette and its driver John Fitch to Le Mans for the 50th anniversary of the cars win, he was accompanied by Corvette collector and documentary filmmaker Michael Brown who captured the experience in HD. [VIDEO] Classic Corvette Dodges Bullet at Nurburgring

This midyear Corvette was parked alongside one of the turns at the famous Nurburgring in Germany and from the video it appears the car was stalled. Not a great place to be as a recent rainstorm had passed through leaving the track wet and several cars had trouble navigating the turn as the video shows. Eventually, the driver got the Corvette started and was able to move to a safer location.

I have been informed by several readers that the first L88 Corvette did sell at $1.25 million at the Mecum at Monterey auction. A review of the mecum.com results confirms this. I apologize for the error.

The first documented L88 Corvette sold at the Mecum at Monterey auction yesterday afternoon for $1,250,000. The mid year was the first documented 427/430 hp Corvette that was campaigned by Tony DeLorenzo in the SCCA A Production class. Years later the Corvette was restored and won awards from Bloomington Gold and the NCRS.

Countdown to Monterey: Four Corvettes Offered From the Reggie Jackson Collection

Noted Corvette collector and baseball legend Reggie Jackson will be offering four Corvettes at the Mecum at Monterey auction on August 13-14th at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa. The four cars include two 1967 L68 427/400 Corvettes and two straight axle C1s. The Corvettes are part of Jackson’s 16-car sale at the Monterey auction.
