One of the highlights of attending the 12 Hours of Sebring are the seminars put on by the Corvette production team. Corvette’s Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter and Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles made the trek from Detroit and brought down several Corvettes to show off to the faithful in the Corvette Corral including the new 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible with the 60th Anniversary Package.
After 34 years of marriage, Corvette Forum member “Sonny557″ and his wife probably thought they had seen everything possible. But then on their way back from their anniversary trip to San Antonio, they passed an older man in a Lincoln Continental towing his 1966 Corvette on a trailer.

The 3-day sale runs Thursday March 29th through Saturday March 31st at the Kansas City Convention Center – Bartle Hall. Velocity will have 15 hours of live coverage spread across all 3 auction days. During the rollout out of the C6 in 2005, Chevy introduced just the base coupe and convertible models with the performance-laden Z06 coming a year later in 2006. When Chevrolet introduces the C7 Corvette next year, the speculation is that we’ll initially have just two models to choose from – the standard Coupe and Convertible – while the upgraded Grand Sports, Z06 and ZR1 performance models will arrive at a later date. Now Motor Trend has weighed in with their predictions of just exactly when we can expect to see the various Corvettes appear in C7 form.

Last year we had the opportunity to help the Saint Bernard Catholic Church in Southern Indiana get the word out about their annual Corvette fundraiser and we’re pleased to announce the details of their new 2012 Classic Corvette giveaway. The annual raffle is an important fundraiser as it provides much needed funds for the Church’s school and daycare programs in Rockport. So without further ado, this year’s Saint Bernard giveaway is a big block powered 1966 Nassau Blue Corvette convertible.
The Corvette faithful are adamant that Chevrolet needs to stick with some kind of V8 engine that’s powered their favorite sports car since the 1955 model.
But Edmunds Inside Line reports that General Motors built 500,000 fewer V8 engines in 2011 than it did five years earlier in 2006.
The Corvette team will need to make a little more room on the mantle for yet another award. Strategic Vision announced last week their list of winners for their 2011 Total Value Awards. The C6 Corvette Coupe took home top honors in the Premium Coupe segment beating out another CorvetteBlogger favorite, the Cadillac CTS Coupe.
