If your looking for a project C3 or C4 Corvette, check out this auction of over 100 salvage Corvettes that will be sold on Saturday in Forest City, North Carolina. Whittington Auction and Appraisal is handling the gavel duties for this collection of mostly insurance salvage Corvettes and parts. The sale is actually the first of two auctions with the second part dealing with thousands of used original Corvette parts.

[VIDEO] Cardinal's World Series MVP David Freese Awarded Keys to 2012 Corvette Grand Sport

Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals and their MVP 3rd baseman David Freese. Freese hit .348 during the series with a home run and seven RBIs and the three runs he drove in during Game 6 kept the Cards alive to go all the way. As the series Most Valuable Player, Chevrolet awarded him a 2012 Corvette Centennial Edition Grand Sport.

A couple weeks back we received the regular Insider’s newsletter from Corvette Market magazine. Included in the email was a link to a video clip of one of the 3 Scaglietti bodied C1 Corvettes assembled in Italy. Having never heard of this trio before we did some Googling to find out more about them. Turns out these three cars were the brainchild of three men from Texas, including one named Carroll Shelby.

One of my favorite features from Hemmings is the vintage photographs showing life in America from the view on the street. This photo shows downtown Long Beach, Washington in what is believed to be the summer or early fall of 1964 shows a crowded street with a Riverside Red mid-year Corvette driving away from the camera. Amazing 1978 Corvette Pace Car Barn Find with 13 Original Miles

1978 was a special year for Corvette. Not only was the sports car celebrating its 25th Anniversary, it was chosen to pace the Indianapolis 500. GM celebrated the event with a special Indy 500 Pace Car replica, a fully optioned Corvette painted Black and Silver and featuring silver interior and polished aluminum wheels. When the Wall Street Journal published a front page story on March 27,1978 reporting on the special edition Corvette, prices went wild and many of the 6502 replicas were purchased as investments by collectors.
