On this day in 1953, a prototype Chevrolet Corvette sports car (EX-122) makes its debut at General Motors’ (GM) Motorama auto show at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. The Corvette, named for a fast type of naval warship, would eventually become an iconic American muscle car and remains in production today.

Each January all eyes on the automotive world focus on the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. All the major carmakers roll out their latest creations and concepts for the world to see. This year General Motors created a whole new display to highlight their portfolio of products. The Quest Documentary to be Screened at the Arizona Biltmore

The Chip Miller Charitable Foundation will hold a special showing of the “The Quest”, the Chip Miller/1960 Le Mans documentary this Sunday afternoon at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Arizona. We’ve all heard that ominous scraping sound when we pull too far into a parking space in our Corvette and go over the curb. When you drive a vehicle as low to the ground as ours, you constantly worry about damaging the spoiler below the front of the car. Now comes word that Southern Car Parts, which supplies components for Corvettes, has come up with an ingenious way to protect our favorite car from such damage.

This past summer, Mark Reuss visited the Bowling Green Assembly Center – the home of the Corvette – and announced a significant, multi-million dollar investment to upgrade the plant. During his remarks, Mark told the audience that there were two model years (2012 and 2013) remaining for the current generation of Corvette.
