At the SEMA show in 2006, Art Morrison’s project 3G Corvette won the “Gran Turismo Award” which also meant that it would be featured in the Playstation video game “Gran Turismo”. While many fans may have driven the custom 538 horsepower Corvette in the game, Matt Farah headed out to Spring Mountain motorsports park outside of Las Vegas to drive the real thing.

Oh, and don’t forget the 2 Mercury 1,350hp twin turbo racing motors that provide motiviation. Yep, that’s a total of 2,700hp or 4.2 real ZR1′s. Corvette Auction Preview: Mecum Dallas

The team at Mecum Auctions heads to Texas this weekend for their inaugural Dallas sale. The auction runs Thursday, October 6th, through Saturday the 8th at the Dallas Convention Center. September 2011 Corvette Sales

We got the new monthly sales figures for September this week and Corvette sales have rebounded from the 936 deliveries made in August to 1,147 Corvettes delivered in September. Corvette sales saw a 3.4% increase over September 2010′s sales which totaled 1,109. For the year to date calendar, Corvette sales are pacing at 4.8% higher than 2010 as well.

Corvette Z06 is one of eight cars involved in Huge Nurburgring Crash

A huge crash on the famous Nurburgring over the weekend collected eight cars including a “rented” Corvette Z06. The accident occurred on the portion of the ‘ring known as the “Bergwerk” section and from various reports, we believe the cause was likely due to a construction zone that failed to give drivers enough warning to slow down. Regardless, the accident left seven of eight cars undrivable and one of the drivers in critical condition.

The 4th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector car auction in Las Vegas concluded Saturday night with 46 Corvettes crossing the auction block over the 3-day sale. We’ve heard rumors and speculation that the 2014 Corvette will be powered by a turbo, or that it will be mid-engined, or it will have all-wheel drive. Whatever the case, it appears that everyone is talking within the C7 program as yet another “inside source” has come forward to leak new details on the development of the C7.
