[VIDEO] 1972 Corvette Runs the AutoCross at Goodguys PPG Nationals

One of the largest custom auto shows of the year was recently put on by the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association. The Goodguys PPG Nationals three day extravaganza held July 6th-8th at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus attracted thousands of cars and over 100,000 enthusiasts.

One of the main attractions of the event is the Goodguys AutoCross competition and we are glad to hear that a Corvette finished 1st in the Street Machine class.

The 2012 Mecum Auctions train-of-fun stops in Des Moines, Iowa this weekend. The 2-day sale takes place July 20th – 21st at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Velocity TV will have 12 hours of live coverage of the event. 500 hundred cars are expected and as we write this over 20 Corvettes are scheduled to cross the auction block.

St. Bernard's Raffle Winner Drives to Indiana to Pick Up 1966 Corvette

So when is undertaking a 1,360 mile road trip a good thing? How about if there was a classic Corvette waiting for you at the end of the journey?

Edward Ess of Batavia, NY arrived in Rockport, Indiana last week with a car hauler to pick up a 1966 Nassau Blue Corvette convertible valued at $80,000. His name was drawn on July 8th as the winner of the 24 Annual Classic Corvette Giveaway benefiting Saint Bernard Parish and School in Rockport, Indiana.

The car once belonged to a notorious drug dealer named Bradley Dunham in Sullivan County in the Catskills. Back in the day, he would park it across the street from the Livingston Manor school on weekends to peddle his crack cocaine.

[VIDEO] 2007 Corvette Z06 Is Dismantled in Time Lapse Video

Many of us have taken the time to go to Bowling Green, Kentucky and see how our beloved Corvettes are lovingly put together at the Assembly Plant there.

Not many of us, however, have ever seen the reverse process and witnessed a 2007 Z06 literally taken apart piece by piece.

But you can witness the slow death of a C6 during this video that surfaced online showing how a C6 Corvette was disassembled at the Cleveland Pick-A-Part center.

[VIDEO] C5 Z06 Crashes and Flips in San Diego Accident

A Corvette owner and his passenger went for a wild ride earlier this week according to ABC’s 10News.com in San Diego. Witnesses say they saw the silver C5 Z06 speeding and making a “screeching noise” before the driver lost control and hit a fire hydrant before coming to rest on its roof.

Miraculously, both the driver and passenger climbed out of upside down Corvette on their own, but the accident did send the passenger to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
