Dispelling the recent rumors that the new C7 Corvette Stingray’s starting price will be approaching or topping $70K, Alan Taylor, automotive journalist and TV personality, said the new Corvette Convertible will retail for about $60K. During a segment on ABC’s popular morning TV show, “LIVE with Kelly and Michael”, Taylor introduced and literally uncovered several of the new cars being displayed and unveiled at the New York Auto Show this week.

The C7 Corvette is the much anticipated next generation sports car from Chevrolet. The C7 Corvette is powered by the all new small block LT1 V8 estimated to produce 450 hp and 29 mpg. It will be unveiled on 1.13.13. The 2014 Corvette is currently expected to arrive in dealer showrooms sometime in the summer/fall of 2014.
A few weeks prior to the Geneva Motor Show, the folks over at Edmunds got a sneak peak of the new C7 convertible Michigan. During their visit they also spoke to GM’s Director of Exterior Design, Tom Peters. In the 4 and a half minute video after the break, Peters and Edmunds’ Alistair Weaver discuss the merits of the all new topless Corvette.
Maybe it pays to be a lawmaker in Washington, D.C., at least if you are a Corvette enthusiast.
Legislators got a special treat Thursday when General Motors CEO and Chairman Dan Akerson showed up on Capitol Hill with a special treat – a Cyber Gray 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe.
This year’s NCM Bash will offer Corvette enthusiasts a special excuse to head to Bowling Green for the annual event that traditionally offers the first in-person look at the new models.
So if you’re tired of just drooling over photos of the C7 on the Internet, here’s your first chance to get up close to real 2014 Corvette Stingray coupes and convertibles – plus have a chance to hear many members of the Chevrolet team who were behind this marvel of design and engineering.
The Bash, set for April 25-27, will help the museum kick off the 2013 event season.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray made its West Coast debut at the big 60th Anniversary Corvette Celebration at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles a couple of weekends ago, and there for the occasion were several Corvette notables, including designer Kirk Bennion.
Bennion took a few moments to talk with a reporter from the L.A. Times to discuss his efforts on what is just the seventh generation of the 60-year-old sports car.
It seems that where ever the 2014 Corvette Stingray goes, there’s an unveiling. Last weekend in the Corvette Corral tent at the 12 Hours of Sebring wasn’t any different.
With Corvette Chief Engineer beginning his discussion about the next generation car, Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles and Corvette Assembly Plant Manager Dave Tatman pulled the cover off the Cyber Gray Corvette Stingray Coupe to a huge round of applause (and a few tears) from the enthusiasts in the crowd.
The Corvette Team’s annual seminar to Corvette owners and enthusiasts at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring included a very special guest – the 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe. Team Members Tadge Juechter, Harlan Charles and Bowling Green Assembly Plant Manager Dave Tatman each spoke about the new 7th Generation Corvette and then answered questions from the crowd.
If you like the looks of this C7-based Callaway AeroWagon, let the good folks there know as soon as possible, and you might just be able to drive one later this year.
Callaway Cars, based out of Old Lyme, Connecticut, has been making unique and very powerful Corvettes for more than 25 years. Their latest effort is a great one for the company – a shooting brake C7 Corvette.
When the 2014 Corvette Stingray hits the market later this year, it won’t really be a product of just Chevrolet and General Motors.
In the background will be numerous companies providing their expertise in certain areas to help make the Stingray the best car it can be.
One of those companies is International Automotive Components (IAC), which will be playing a key role in the highly anticipated – and much improved – interior of the seventh generation Corvette.
Sometimes it pays to be No. 1.
Wilson Niblett Chevrolet, the biggest Corvette dealer in Canada, hosted its 12th annual Corvette Technical Session in Richmond Hill on Saturday.
And the guests of honor turned out to be some pretty big names in the Corvette world.
