It’s safe to say that the GoPro HD cameras that you can attach to your cars via a suction cup has revolutionized the way drivers immortalize their exploits behind the wheel. While the handy little plastic-encased cameras are mostly used for capturing burnouts, club cruises and the occasional accident, we’re surprised we don’t see more of this – GoPro equipped Corvettes getting pulled over by the Man!

Lot# 3040… It doesn’t sound like much but you never can tell.
While looking through the lists of cars going through the Barrett-Jackson auction next week, I saw a big Chevrolet Bowtie where there should be a picture of a car for Lot# 3040. This, of course, got my attention right away so I had to read further…
Mecum Auctions has announced that they’ll be offering 12 Corvettes from the Chuck Ungurean collection at their Kissimmee, Florida sale later this month. All dozen cars will be selling without reserve when they cross the auction block on Saturday, January 28th, 2012. Included among the spectacular lots are a 1969 L88, a 1972 ZR-1, and a pair of black 1967 L71’s.
Motor Trend recently tasked their editiors and writers to come up with a list of the Best and Worst cars they drove in 2011. Corvette owners have rightly taken offense to the comments from Associate Online Editor Jason Udy who named the 2011 Corvette Grand Sport as the worst car he drove in 2011. Not only did he give the Corvette this dubious award, but he took is a step further by saying the Corvette “lacks soul”.
Want to see what extreme acceleration looks like? In the latest video from High Tech Corvette, the crew filmed a twin-turbo Corvette C6 boasting over 1,500 horses cruising down the highway. When the driver drops the hammer, this C6 Corvette leaps from 50 mph to over 170 mph in just seconds.
We often like to remind our readers about things that you shouldn’t do in your Corvette and driving while intoxicated is at the top of the list. Although it wasn’t a drunk Corvette driver that hit these new Corvettes at a Miami area Chevrolet dealer, you can see the carnage that can result to innocent people and property as a result of making the decision to drive while impaired.
As Christmas quickly approaches we’re sure most of you are busy attacking the malls and online stores like we are grabbing sweaters, gifts cards and such. What if shopping was more fun? It was back in May that we brought you the news of Late Model Racecraft’s 1500 hp twin turbo Corvette ZR1 that ran 231 mph at the Texas Mile to claim the title as World’s Fastest Corvette in the Standing Mile. Not content to rest on their laurels, the Houston-based tuner has turned some wrenches on another Corvette ZR1 which they claim is now the fastest Corvette ZR1 in the world!
