Josh Jacquot has the second best job in the automobile industry (Jim Mero rules!) as he gets to lay down the rubber for InsideLine.com’s Burnout Super Test. Last time we checked, the Corvette Z06 Carbon was the reigning champ, defeating a Viper SRT-10 by 50 feet. Josh brings back the new Corvette Z06 Centennial and decides to go head to head with another GM vehicle in the 500+ hp club, the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.
With much fanfare, the 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition with the 60th Anniversary package drove up on the Barrett-Jackson auction block Saturday afternoon and was hammered sold for $600,000. Minutes later it was annouced that William Vannoy, the losing bidder in the auction, had also donated $100,000 to the sale to bring the total amount raised for charity to $700,000. Buying the rights to buy the VIN 001 2013 Corvette was Barrett-Jackson regular Ron Pratte.
As time ticks down to the sale of the first 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible at Barrett-Jackson this Saturday, interested buyers and enthusiasts alike are able to get up close and personal with the new car which is set up at the Chevrolet display. Our friend Chris Draper was in Scottsdale yesterday to take in Barrett-Jackson and provides these pictures of the 60th Anniversary car on display along with a first-year 1953 Corvette.

A Corvette racing icon will be helping to pay for the construction of the exciting new National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park slated to be completed in the fall of 2014.
Johnny O’Connell, four-time winner of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in France with the factory Corvette Racing team, and Pfadt Race Engineering have offered to donate a portion of the sales of their official Johnny O’Connell Suspension made through the National Corvette Museum, which just added the products to their lineup on-site and online.
When we talk about German-based Corvette tuners, the name Geiger would usually come to mind. However, there are others in the land of Bavaria who also take pride in tuning America’s favorite sports car. One such firm is named TIKT and their awesome 758-horsepower Corvette ZR1 is called the Triple X.
Each January all eyes on the automotive world focus on the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. All the major carmakers roll out their latest creations and concepts for the world to see. This year General Motors created a whole new display to highlight their portfolio of products. We grabbed a couple of tickets to the ritzy charity preview event so we could check out all the good stuff before the show opened to the public.

We’ve all heard that ominous scraping sound when we pull too far into a parking space in our Corvette and go over the curb. When you drive a vehicle as low to the ground as ours, you constantly worry about damaging the spoiler below the front of the car. Now comes word that Southern Car Parts, which supplies components for Corvettes, has come up with an ingenious way to protect our favorite car from such damage.
Chevrolet’s fastest Corvette drop top, the new 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible, will be the talk of the internet today as it well should be. Somewhat buried in the press release is that the very first saleable Corvette 427 wearing what we assume will be VIN 001 is scheduled to be sold at Barrett-Jackson’s collector car auction in Scottsdale next weekend.
With the 2013 model year being both the 60th anniversary of the Corvette as well as the C6′s final year of production, it has been widely anticipated that Chevrolet will offer something special for Corvette enthusiasts. This morning the rumors of anniversary packages and a new special model have been answered as we are very excited to introduce the 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition as well as the all new 2013 60th Anniversary package.
For Corvette fans, we have some good news/bad news from the 2012 North American International Auto show in Detroit. The good news is that Chevy introduced two new concept cars sporting cross-flags logos. The bad news is that neither of them is a Corvette.
