Last weekend we made a run down to CORSA Performance’s corporate headquarters in Berea, Ohio to take in their 12th annual Corvettes at CORSA show. The final slate of candidates for Bloomington Gold’s Great Hall was inducted at last month’s show in Champaign, ILL. Over the last five years, Bloomington Gold has honored 50 people and 50 Corvettes who have positively impacted our hobby. This year’s inductees mark the final year of the Great Hall.
The Great Hall’s intent is to salute the pioneers of our hobby – the people, organizations, and the cars that helped create the phenomenon we know and love today. It’s their passion and drive that helped build the hobby for all of us.
One of our favorite things to do at the major Corvette shows is to walk both the show grounds and parking lots to look at the fun, witty and personality-descriptive vanity license plates that are adorned on America’s favorite sports cars.
We maintain the theory that there are two types of vanity plates. The first type describes the car while the second type is more focused on the owner. Lucky for us, Bloomington Gold offers a target rich environment where both types are on display.
Happy Birthday, America!
In celebration of the 4th of July, here’s a special gallery of patriotic Corvettes. So sit back and enjoy the Corvette-fueled fireworks as we bring you 36 Corvettes dressed or surrounded by Old Glory.

You’d never know from looking at these photos, but the driver of this totaled 1985 Corvette miraculously escaped with no serious injuries.
Unfortunately, the Corvette was a high school graduation gift from the grandfather of the unidentified 19-year-old driver, who is now a Portland Community College student.
