The 10th Annual Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale sale hosted by Auctions America takes place this weekend in Southern Florida. Nearly 70 Corvettes will be offered among the 500 cars expected to attend including 26 pristine Corvettes from the private collection of Tony Parella. The impressive group consists of 1 car from each year 1953 – 1969 and other rarities from the 3rd – 5th generations of America’s sports car.

Last weekend marked our annual pilgrimage to Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit for the yearly festival of chrome and horsepower known as Autorama. The 88-year old driver of this “Little Red Corvette” lost control on a rain-soaked road in Green Valley, Arizona last week. The Corvette bounced off the median, spun around and jumped the curb before it came to rest in a KFC parking lot, hitting a light pole which fell over on a van.

Back before the C4 Callaway Twin Turbos, aftermarket company American Custom Industries (ACI) partnered with Zora Arkus-Duntov on a limited run of custom Corvettes. This rare 1980 Duntov Turbo Corvette is one of the products of that partnership and is currently for sale on Craigslist.
