Corvettes on eBay: Custom 1972 Corvette Pickup

A woman’s brush with death has given a new purpose for her black 1974 Corvette.

Jennifer Barnett knew something just wasn’t right with her body last year. She found a large lump in her left breast in August 2013, and about a month later, doctors gave her the grim news – she had stage IV breast cancer that had apparently spread to her liver.

She embarked on a year of chemotherapy aimed to keep the cancer from growing, and by February, tests showed that the breast tumor had indeed shrunk – but the tumor in her liver had not.

Corvettes on eBay: 1979 Custom Duntov Turbo Corvette Offered at No Reserve

A Duntov Turbo Corvette, one of the lesser-known Corvette models, is up for sale on eBay and is being offered at no reserve.

The Duntov Turbo Corvette was a collaboration between American Custom Industries (ACI) and Zora Arkus-Duntov following Zora’s retirement from General Motors in 1975. The Duntov Turbo Corvette should not be confused with the 1979 Turbo Corvette and the 1980 Turbo Corvette, both of which were General Motors prototypes. General Motors did not participate in either the design or the manufacture of the Duntov Turbo as both were the responsibility of ACI.

Detroit Man Tracks Down and Buys His Late Father's 1973 Corvette

We’ve all heard and read stories about Corvette owners who, for one reason or another, sold their beloved Vette, but were unable to get the car out of their minds. Years later, when their life circumstances may have changed, they manage to track down and bring their fiberglass friend back into the family.

Scott Bachmann, in the Metropolitan Detroit area, took this story one generation further by finding and repurchasing his late father’s Corvette, and bringing it back home to his family. He was interviewed by WWJ’s Roberta Jasina to find out more about this touching story.

[PICS] 2014 Corvette FunFest at Mid America Motorworks

Finally made it!

That’s what we have to say after making the pilgrimage this year to Effingham, IL for the 21st Annual Corvette FunFest put on by Mike Yager and the great folks at Mid America Motorworks.

The theme for this year’s FunFest was “Vets with Vettes” and so not only was it great to see all the Corvettes out in the fields but to have the opportunity to talk with our nation’s veterans and see all the patriotic displays including the traveling Vietnam Veteran’s wall memorial was something we’ll never forget.
