Mecum Auctions will offer nearly 200 Corvettes for sale this week in Indianapolis at their 25th Annual Spring Classic auction. Corvettes make up almost 10% of the expected 2,000 car docket. The event kicked off yesterday with “Super Tuesday” and concludes on Sunday, May 20th. The team at Velocity will provide 32 hours of live auction TV coverage. Barrett-Jackson makes their annual Easter weekend stop in South Florida this Thursday, April 5th through Saturday, April 7th. Our friends at SPEED will have 21 hours of live coverage sprinkled across all 3 days.
The Palm Beach sale will have roughly 450 cars up for bid including 39 Corvettes which translates into about 9% of the total docket. Of those, all but 2 are being sold at no reserve.

After 34 years of marriage, Corvette Forum member “Sonny557″ and his wife probably thought they had seen everything possible. But then on their way back from their anniversary trip to San Antonio, they passed an older man in a Lincoln Continental towing his 1966 Corvette on a trailer.
Mecum Auctions next stop on their 2012 tour is this weekend in Kanas City, Missouri. The 3-day sale runs Thursday March 29th through Saturday March 31st at the Kansas City Convention Center – Bartle Hall. Velocity will have 15 hours of live coverage spread across all 3 auction days. As of this post, there are over 25 Corvettes scheduled to cross the block.
Last year we had the opportunity to help the Saint Bernard Catholic Church in Southern Indiana get the word out about their annual Corvette fundraiser and we’re pleased to announce the details of their new 2012 Classic Corvette giveaway. The annual raffle is an important fundraiser as it provides much needed funds for the Church’s school and daycare programs in Rockport.
