The 2012 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) show is in now the books and it was another phenomenal event. The 2-day indoor show in Chicago attracted hundreds of the country’s finest Corvettes, muscle cars, and customs. We already teased you with a few show photos on Facebook and Twitter, and now a more extensive show gallery awaits you after the break.
Mecum Auctions takes their quest to sell every car ever produced west this weekend for their inaugural Anaheim, California event. Around 70 Corvettes are up for adoption this Thursday through Saturday as part of the 800 car docket. You can watch 18 hours of live coverage of the event on Velocity.
Our friends at ProTeam Corvette Sales will be hosting an all-day Corvette seminar and judging school on Saturday November 10th. The event is sponsored by the Michigan and Heart of Ohio chapters of the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS), although NCRS membership isn’t required to attend the event. The cost is just $10 at the door which includes breakfast and lunch. Enthusiasts under 35 years of age get in free.
John Fitch passed away last week at the age of 95. While for Corvette fans his legacy will be linked to racing the American sports car during its infancy, he has accomplished so much more in his lifetime. Filmmaker Michael Brown, who worked with John Fitch during the filming of the documentary The Quest, has put together a video tribute featuring John in his own words.

The 95-year-old Corvette racing legend passed away early Wednesday at his home in Lime Rock, Connecticut after a life packed full of accomplishments on and off the track.
Mecum Auctions will offer over 100 Corvettes for sale this week as part of their annual fall St. Charles auction. Sales kick off Thursday, October 25th and runs through Saturday, October 27th at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois. Velocity will provide 12 hours of live auction coverage from the event.
What’s been called the “World’s Fastest Six Cylinder Corvette” will be crossing the block next weekend at Mecum’s annual Fall Premier auction in St. Charles, IL. This iconic drag racer beat up on the competition from 1962 – 1971 with Earl Britt behind the wheel. Britt operated Earl’s Pizza Palace in Sioux Falls, South Dakota when not setting ET records and winning multiple NHRA championships.
I’ve always been a bit of a George Clooney fan – the Oceans 11 franchise and the Fabulous Mr. Fox are among our Clooney favorites here at the CorvetteBlogger compound. So it was cool to see the actor has a thing for Corvettes as well.

To say this 1954 Corvette owned by Lori and Morey Hale is just a car would be a major understatement. Like many Corvette owners, their C1 Corvette played a major role throughout their lives – from when Morey courted Lori to when they got married in it in Carson City. Now, after a lifetime of memories, the Corvette was offered a new home after Lori donated the car to the National Corvette Museum.
