Hartland expects about 300 cars for their inaugural event at the NCM. The Corvette inductees included the legendary 1963 Grand Sport, the first big block, and the mighty 2009 ZR-1. The people and organizations category featured the godfather of the Corvette, the founder of Carlisle Events, and the Flying Dentist among others.

Happy Birthday Corvette: America's Favorite Sports Car Turns 60 Today

In the early 1950′s, Harley Earl, GM’s head of styling, envisioned a low-cost American sports car that could compete with Europe’s Jaguar, MG and Ferrari. Codenamed “Opel”, the very first prototype made its debut in January 1953 at the GM Motorama show at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City.

The great reviews and pubic acclaim for the little white roadster prompted GM to fast track the Corvette into production. Sixty years ago today on June 30, 1953, the world’s first production Corvette rolled off its Flint, Michigan assembly line.

1953 Corvette VIN 083 Heading to Russo and Steele Newport Beach

Russo and Steele will be out in sunny southern California this weekend for their Newport Beach sale. Judge Allows Lawsuit over Ownership of the #1 Briggs Cunningham Corvette to Continue

It looks as if the parties in a lawsuit about the Briggs Cunningham Le Mans Corvette race car will be taking another lap around the track after a judge’s ruling this week.

The battle has already been going on for nine months after a 1960 Corvette commissioned by Briggs Cunningham for the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans race turned up during a promotion at last year’s Corvettes at Carlisle.
