Corvettes For Sale

2005 SEMA Corvette For Sale on eBay

by Keith Cornett on January 5, 2007

2005 SEMA CorvetteThis 2000 Corvette started life as most Corvettes do, but then John Wargo of the Custom Shop got hold of it for a bit of an upgrade for the 2005 SEMA show in Las Vegas where it was featured at Sony’s Mobile Audio booth. Since the SEMA appearance it has been displayed at most of the major Corvette shows as well as featured in several Corvette magazines and calendars. The Corvette was completely worked over and now features such amenities as a polished Vortech Supercharger, JBA Headers, Corsa Exhaust and a custom interior from Mid America Motorworks. And because the Corvette was built to be displayed at the Sony booth, it has an audio system containing an in-dash TV/DVD and 6,000 watts of power. You can view a video of the Corvette being built for the SEMA show on Google Video. The Corvette is being offered with a Buy It Now price of $69,900. Check out the auction for more photos.

1960 Fuel Injected CorvettePaul Teutul Sr and his son Paul Jr, owners of the world famous Orange County Choppers, will be heading to Scottsdale later this month with six vehicles from their personal collection to sell at the equally world famous Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction. Included in the mix is a 1960 Fuel Injected Corvette Convertible (Lot #1320) that will be paired with a 2005 Corvette Custom Chopper (Lot #1320.1). The Corvette is Ermine White with a 283 ci 290 hp fuel injected V8 engine coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The chopper is an 88 cid Knucklehead V-Twin engine containing a 5-Speed transmission that matches the Corvette’s power and grace.

“This collection expresses two of my obsessions, motorcycles and muscle cars,” said Paul Teutul Sr. “Handing over the keys to these prized possessions is going to be tough, but I think there will be some worthy candidates at the Barrett-Jackson auction. Craig Jackson and his team have created one of the most impressive automotive events on the planet, and we’re excited to be part of the action.”
The Teutul’s will also be selling a 1968 Dodge HEMI Charger along with a matching Chopper, as well as two 1967 Shelby GT 500E Fastbacks. The Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction begins January 13th and runs through the 21st.

Spotted on CraigsList: Barbie’s 1990 Corvette

by Keith Cornett on November 18, 2006

1990 Corvette For SaleWhen you think of Pink Corvettes, you probably have visions of Barbie and Ken motoring around the family room floor. Browsing CraigsList today, we found a Corvette in the San Diego area that Ken wouldn’t be caught dead in – a custom pink1990 Corvette. Description of the Ad:

Yes… A Pink Corvette! We just had the engine rebuilt. It was bored 30 over and it runs AWESOME. Unfortunately, we cannot keep it. We also replaced the leather seats and the CD player. We fixed a bunch of stuff because we were planning on keeping it. I think it is a heck of a deal and a good car. And…. IT’S PINK!!
A Pink Corvette that’s been bored 30 over? We’ll call that a double threat with looks and performance, as long as Barbie is in the drivers seat. Source: CraigsList.com

Replica 1956 Corvette Nomad Ready to Roll

by Keith Cornett on November 14, 2006

In 1954, Chevrolet rolled out a one-of-a-kind Corvette Nomad for the 1954 Motorama car show. The concept featured the front end of a 1954 Corvette mated to the backend of the Nomad station wagon. While the concept never reached production, we often wonder what if had the concept taken off. Corvette World in Dallas, Texas has for sale a replica of the Motorama concept, albeit built on a 1956 Corvette body. We like anything with Corvette grilles and coves especially when powered by a 283 ci Fuelie and this one-of-a-kind classic doesn’t disappoint.

Racing Fans – Buy Your Own Corvette C6.R Racecar

by Keith Cornett on November 10, 2006

Corvette C6.R - Number 001 GM’s first ever C6 Corvette race car, the Corvette C6.R (chassis number C6.R-001) is up for grabs if you got the cash. The Racing version of the Corvette is being sold by current owner Mike Hezemans of GLPK Carsport – a European Race Team. This Corvette was raced under the GM Corvette racing banner in 2005 winning the ALMS Championship (actually we don’t know if this is the #3 or #4 Corvette) and at the end of the racing season was sold to GLPK Carport where Hezemans raced the car for the 2006 season in Belgium’s BelCar Championship. So how much to own a piece of Corvette racing history? Roughly $760,000 USD. The car will be delivered in ready to race condition. Celebrity Sighting: Rush Hour Corvette For Sale on eBay

by Keith Cornett on October 11, 2006

The 1972 Corvette Convertible driven by Chris Tucker in the movie Rush Hour is up for grabs on eBay. The current bid is at $17,990 and there is just a little over one day left for bidding. The Corvette has a reserve price which has not yet been met, and the Buy It Now price is listed at $49,998. The seller claims that this Corvette is one of the most famous Corvettes in existence due to the movies. I don’t think I would go that far, but the 72 Corvette Stingray is a beauty, despite the fact that Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan signed the dash. Oh wait, that should only add to the collectibility, right? Here are some photos of the Rush Hour Corvette:

When Customizing Corvettes Goes Too Far

by Keith Cornett on September 1, 2006

One of the timeless debates about classic Corvettes revolves around modding/customization versus the pursuit of Matching Numbers restoration. We see these conversations all the time on some of the forums and people are usually quite passionate on both sides of the debate.

Carlisle Auction Preview: 1966 Corvette Convertible

by Keith Cornett on August 20, 2006

1966 CorvetteCorvettes at Carlisle and the Mecum auction will be the center of the Corvette universe for the next 7 days. This auction is traditionally one of the largest Corvette auctions of the year. Last week, we featured a Triple Black 1969 Convertible. Our second featured Corvette that’s available at the Carlisle Auction is this beautiful Milano Maroon 1966 Corvette: 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible – Lot #S65 Same owner for 32 years, has owner history. Original/Numbers Matching, Restoration completed in June 2006, all receipts. New paint, carpet, interior, 90% all original. 327/350 HP original (Block 38581747) L-79 FT227HT 112715. Style 66 467, trim st, body A-3834, paint 988 Milano Maroon. Original Muncie 4 speed, close ratio, M-21, 3:70 posi rear (AO), alternator (110069). Original 2 ½” cast factory headers, brand new factory original Holley Carb (3367A), Original factory teakwood steering wheel, AM-FM working original radio with power antenna. Factory side exhaust, gold line tires, Original factory hubcaps, New soft top. 57,947 Miles. Original jack and spare tire and original Owners Manual. Again, it is our second feature Corvette to not have a big block, but this Corvette is a great entry car for the new collector or someone wanting a turnkey midyear. Fully documented, longtime ownership and an optional motor all work in favor of this classic. We place an expected range of this Corvette to be a good buy between $48,000 and $55,000. One year appreciation levels for the 66 Convertible are running just under 5%. The Mecum auction at Corvettes of Carlisle runs August 25-26th in Carlisle, PA. Source: Mecum Collector Car Auctioneers
