The 39th annual Bloomington Gold Corvette show will see major changes this year as organizers have shuffled the weekend’s judging schedule again for the 2nd time in the last few years. The June 23rd – 26th, 2011 event to be held at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, IL will divide up its Survivor, Gold Certification, and Benchmark judging across 3 days for this year’s show. Previously, Survivor judging had been on Thursdays, Gold Certification on Fridays, and the drive-through awards ceremony on Saturday morning.

We first came across Mark Shields (aka Super Genius) replica Corvette Batmobile in May 2006. A salvaged 1978 Corvette was used as the basis to create the one of kind tribute to Tim Burton’s 1989 reincarnation of the Dark Knight which featured Michael Keaton in the role of the caped crusader. The Corvette is now listed on eBay with a somewhat steep starting bid of $50,000.

1963 Corvette convertible, VIN 30867S105XXX, matching numbers 327ci/360hp fuel-injected motor. FI unit replaced with traditional carburetor and original FI unit put on shelf, non-original radiator. 4-Speed transmission, 59,406 original miles. Saddle Tan exterior with saddle vinyl interior. Interior, carpet and chrome are all in excellent condition. Options include AM/FM radio and removable hard top. Owner history, maintenance receipts. Restored in 1982. This Corvette has also received awards from the local Corvette club shows.
