We’ve heard all about the high prices some dealers in the U.S. are planning to charge for the new seventh-generation Corvette, but they’re nothing compared to what Chinese sports car enthusiasts will have to pay if they want to drive a new Stingray.

Those of us who were around for the dog-eat-dog days of the 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car know first-hand how greedy some dealers can be when a hot car comes their way.
Automotive News is reporting this week that some Chevy dealers are asking as much as $10,000 to $20,000 above sticker price for the soon-to-be-here 2014 Corvette Stingray.

Great news today for our friends in the Great White North as Chevrolet has released the pricing for the 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe and Convertible for Canadian buyers. The new Corvette Stingray Coupe will have a suggested retail price of $52,745 and the Corvette Stingray Convertible will start at $58,245. Pricing excludes a $1,700 destination fee as well as taxes, title and tags.

In a video posted on Automotive News, GM’s North American President Mark Reuss responded to several questions posed from dealers, one of whom asked about the rollout strategy limiting allocations of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray to a select group of 900 dealers instead of opening it up for all dealers.

Good news for European Corvette buyers! This morning, Chevrolet issued a press release announcing the pricing for the 2014 Corvette Stingray in Europe. The new seventh-generation Corvette will be available at dealerships across Europe this fall and pricing for the Coupe will start at €69,990.

Chevrolet just gave enthusiasts of the 2014 Corvette Stingray yet another reason to pull the trigger and place that order. Starting now, customers who purchase or lease an eligible new 2014 Chevrolet, Buick or GMC will be covered by a new maintenance plan that includes certain scheduled services for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
