After trademarking Turbo-Jet last fall, it appears that GM has dusted off another legendary term. GM Authority reported late last week that General Motors has recently been given approval to use a pair of different L88 trademarks. The two requests were filed in August and September 2012 respectively and final approval was given on January 15th of this year.

Motor Trend’s Head 2 Head recently put the C6 Corvette ZR1 up against the new SRT Viper GTS in a variety of settings, and – spoiler alert – the Chevy emerged as the champ once again.

Guess who made the winning bid for the first press kit for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray being auctioned off by General Motors to raise money for the American Cancer Society?
The Chamber of Commerce in Bowling Green, Ky., where the new car will be assembled, placed the high bid of $4,300 for the press kit after an auction on eBay this week.

It was 60 years ago today that thousands of American’s gathered at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City to witness Chevrolet’s first foray into the world of sports cars. Dubbed the Corvette, the two seat sports car was an instant hit with the public and GM rushed into production the revolutionary fiberglass-bodied car six months later.
Celebrating that milestone today, Chevrolet brought the newest iteration of America’s sports car, the 2014 Corvette Stingray, to New York City where it will be reunited with that original Motorama Corvette at the Waldorf Astoria.
