Sentimental 1975 Corvette Being Restored for Daughter

Misty Davis’ dad would no doubt be proud to see what she and the Corvette community in the Carolinas are doing with his 1975 Stingray.

Claude Mathis Jr., died unexpectedly last August at age 61, leaving an unexpected legacy to his 34-year-old daughter.

She inherited his white on blue Corvette, which was in pieces while it was being restored by her father.

Police in Chatsworth, Ontario, Canada are searching for a thief who knows his round around an automobile restoration shop.

Instead of stealing the whole 1971 Corvette stored in a house garage on Grey Road 40 in Grey County, Ontario, a thief just picked and chose what he wanted from the car: some $10,000 worth of parts that included a head valve, carburetor, ignition system, water pump, transmission, and drive shaft.

One of the more useful features available on the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible is the operation of the new top. Designers completed remade the top and its operational process, allowing the opening and closing at speeds of up to 30 mph. Chevrolet has packed a lot of new technology into the 2014 Corvette Stingray, and now comes word that the carmaker has selected a Plymouth, Michigan company to produce the industry’s first-ever brake rotor with a ductile iron hat and gray iron brake plates for the C7′s Z51 Performance Package.

The Corvette engineering team chose SANLUIS Rassini, the world’s largest producer of suspension components for light commercial vehicles and the largest fully integrated brake disc producer in the Americas, to produce the unique two-piece rotor design, which offers significant weight savings and extreme performance at high speeds.
