Our friends at Zip Corvette are hosting their 3rd Annual “Cruising in the Fast Lane” car show at their headquarters in Mechanicsville, VA this Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
Over 400 Corvettes are expected to converge at Zip Corvette for a full day of fun, food and of course, Corvettes! The best news is that there is no entry or registration fee to join the fun. Just bring your Corvette. They’ll take car of the rest!
It’s time for the Corvette community to rally around one of our own as an early morning fire Saturday destroyed the RPI Designs fiberglass plant in Beloit, Ohio.
RPI offers many C5/C6/C7 Corvette parts and accessories, ranging from custom body color painted parts to exhaust systems, grills, and more and says on its website that it’s shipped over 110,000 orders to satisfied customers since 1999.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the weekend blaze, which gutted the 8,000-square-foot plant that made plastic aftermarket parts for Corvettes and Camaros. No cause has been determined, but the building was insured.
Of course, CORSA performance exhaust systems and air intake kits for C4, C5, and C6 models have been a popular aftermarket item for Corvette enthusiasts for years.
Now, CORSA’s products will be offered in the National Corvette Museum’s Corvette Store, and museum members will get a 10 to 15 percent discount, based on their membership level, on all retail items, including CORSA items.
Our friends at Zip Corvette are pretty excited about all the new C7 Corvette Parts and Accessories that have been rolling in over the last few months. If you’ve got a new Stingray, make sure you visit Zip for all your C7 Corvette upgrades like these headers, exhaust systems and engine accessories from the best manufacturers in the business.
Spring has finally sprung…and not a moment too soon at Zip Corvette Parts! After months of grey, gloomy skies and freezing temperatures, we are ready for the cruise-in’s, road trips and car shows that are just around the corner.
That means it’s time to pull the cover off the beautiful Corvette that has been hibernating in your garage, dust her off and get her ready for the wide open road! In celebration of the sun and fun that is sure to come, Zip is offering free shipping on all online orders of $99 or more shipped via UPS Ground to the Contiguous United States only through midnight EST March 21st.
Back when I was in high school in the mid-1970s, I was just coming into my own as a budding Corvette enthusiast.
Though I wouldn’t be able to buy my first Corvette until 1983, for years before that, I was well aware of a company known as Mid America Enterprises that offered products for those other people fortunate enough to already own a ‘Vette.
In 1974, a young tool-and-die maker from Effingham, Ill., named Mike Yager had borrowed $500 to start a company that unbeknownst to him at the time would quickly become a rousing success and would in fact be celebrating its Official 40th Anniversary on Feb. 23, 2014 with 80 employees on its 260-acre Corporate Campus!
Since 2009, Corvette America had been the Official Fun Field Sponsor at Carlisle but now will expand its presence by becoming the Official Presenting Partner for the 2014 event, which will be known as Corvettes at Carlisle Presented By Corvette America. The event will be held Aug. 22-24.
