Congratulations to our friend and CorvetteBlogger sponsor Mike Furman of Criswell Corvette who earlier this month delivered his 3,000th Corvette to a customer. Mike’s first Corvette sale goes all the way back to July 26, 1978 when he sold a 1978 Corvette to Cassius De la Victoria. Some 426 months later, Mike delivered his 3,000th Corvette to a customer from Potomac, MD.
Let’s put politics aside for a moment as we show these pictures of Vice President Joe Biden checking out the new 2015 Corvette Z06 at the Chevrolet display at the North American International Auto Show.
Biden is a long-time Corvette owner with a 1967 Corvette Big Block Roadster back home in his Delaware garage. So we’re pretty sure the excitement and smiles we are seeing on his face as he sits in the new Corvette Z06 and Stingray are genuine.
DtRockstar1 captures some footage of the all new 2015 C7 Corvette Z06 idling and driving down the floor at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, or NAIAS. This car is so badass, I like it even better than the base model.

Most Corvette enthusiasts are probably aware of the 1963 Corvette built for GM’s design boss Harley Earl. The blue roadster has traded hands a couple of times in recent years most recently selling for $1.5 million in October 2013. But did you know that GM also built a special car at the same time for his wife, Sue? The pink 1963 coupe hasn’t been seen in nearly 40 years, and it’s being sold at Mecum Kissimmee sale later this month.
Professional golfer Bubba Watson has joined the ranks of Corvette owners after his wife gave him an Arctic White Corvette Stingray for Christmas. We’re shouting out some kudos to Mrs. Watson for picking out a great C7 Stingray Z51 Coupe for her husband. I have forwarded the story to my wife and suggest you guys do the same with your spouses.
Back in 2009 we first told you about Rod Saboury’s wicked street legal 1963 Corvette drag car. The 2,600 hp monster will run the quarter mile in a mere 6.75 seconds at 209 mph. Then, in late 2012, the car showed up on eBay where it failed to sell in October. Now you’ve got another chance to score this sick whip when it crosses the Barrett-Jackson auction block next week in Scottsdale, Az.
Proving that the Corvette Stingray is a car for all kinds of weather, Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles drove his 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible to work this morning.
Harlan perfectly summed up the spirit of Corvette enthusiasts who drive their Corvettes in all kinds of weather with this caption:
You won’t be able to check it on the options list anytime soon, but Chevrolet’s recent demonstration of how Google Glass can connect with the C7 Corvette Stingray and turn into a head-up display shows just how much high-tech potential there is to be tapped in the coming years in the automotive world.
