Here’s a garage find C2 Sting Ray with an interesting past.
After being driven sporadically by the owners for a couple of years, this 1964 Corvette coupe has been sitting in a garage on jack stands since sometime in early 1973. The long-time owner died earlier this summer, and the car was dug out from the garage and sent all the way across the country to a fellow named Rick F on the West Coast.
We first told you about the 1986 ChEaparral J2J ‘Sucker Vette’ back in 2008 when it was part of the $2007 Grassroots Motorsports Challenge.
To refresh your memory, the Sucker Vette was the result of 3,000 hours of hard work by a group of Proctor & Gamble engineers. To compete in the $2007 Grassroots Motorsports Challenge, participants had to build a car for less than $2007, then use it in a series of competitions.

Maybe Chevrolet needs to rethink its partnership with the popular Manchester United soccer club.
Two years ago, the car manufacturer made a deal with the team, giving all the players their choice of any Chevy model, including the Corvette.
Chevrolet held a media reception Monday evening on the eve of the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas where the automaker unveiled some of the concepts and special edition vehicles that will be displayed at the show beginning on Tuesday.
Opening the event was the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil that was recovered from the National Corvette Museum’s sinkhole. The Corvette was sent back to GM in September where it underwent repairs. Tonight that mighty LS9 roared to life once again as it became the first of Chevrolet’s SEMA vehicles to take the stage.

While most of us in the Corvette community don’t take our Corvettes for granted, they are always around as part of our families and, like the family dog or cat, we sometimes tend to forget how really special they are.
Not so for Jonathan “Randy” Williamson of Bluffton, Ohio. On the day before Halloween, there were no tricks played on Randy, only a very special treat—he got the chance to live out his dream of a ride in a Corvette convertible. Fifty-five-year-old Williamson has been on dialysis for over 20 years and lives in Richland Manor, a senior living healthcare campus community. His passions are cars and music, and one of his fondest bucket-list items was to take a ride in a Corvette.

Germany’s famous Nurburging. 13 miles of ups, downs, twists, and turns affectionately referred to as the Green Hell. Over the last decade automakers have used ‘Ring lap times as a means to define the performance of their latest creations.
