Corvette’s British ambassador Oliver Gavin attended the UK Premiere for Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier last night in London. Dressed in his familiar Corvette Racing fire suit, the factory racecar driver was spotted doing interviews in front of Black Widow’s 2014 Corvette Stingray.

When Rick Thompson found the Sting Ray in 1988, the red beauty was a far cry from its current appearance. In fact, it was sitting neglected in an IRS impound lot and had even partially damaged by a fire. There was even a hole in the floorboard that had been “repaired” with license plates after an axle half-shaft had penetrated through it.
The world premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier was held last week at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre and featured many of the stars from the movie. As the actors walked the red carpet, they paused to have their pictures taken in front of another star from the film – the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
Back in the early 1970′s Hot Rod magazine was looking for a project car to go racing in. What they decided to use was a 1957 Corvette with the 270hp 283ci engine and a 3 speed transmission. Once completed they tore up west drag strips en route to national ET and speed records. After it’s short racing career, nothing much was heard of this car until it showed up last weekend at Detroit Autorama sporting a fresh frame off restoration.

Bob Bondurant will turn 81 next month, but the legendary racer and driving educator shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Take, for example, his induction into the Sports Car Club of America Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday.
Bondurant, who has been well known in Corvette circles for decades, has run the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, now in Arizona, for the past 46 years.
