Hot Rod Magazine has a feature coming out later this year in which they take a C4 Corvette and show you how to make it outrun a new Corvette for dirt cheap. To help promote the story, they released a teaser vid on the Corvette Forum which shows the hot rod staff literally tearing and cutting apart a 1985 Corvette. Big mistake according to the C4 Corvette owners who have chimed in against the gratuitous destruction of their favorite sports car.

Transformers 3 Corvette Stingray Concept Speedster Spied During Chicago Filming

The best and closest look yet at the new topless Corvette Stingray Concept comes from this cell video which captured Sideswipe in alt-mode on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue during filming of Transformers 3. As the Corvette concept passes a group of onlookers, they collectively gasped as the distinctive Corvette V8 sound rumbled from the stingray’s tailpipes.

Custom Corvettes Shine at the Classic Corvette Club UK Nationals

The Classic Corvette Club UK held their 30th Anniversary Nationals show recently and corvette owners turned out to display a variety of the classic American sports car from all generations. Like most shows, participants entered Corvettes ranging from stock through modified, race cars and recreations. Some of the customs are very well done and so we thought a pictorial feature would be nice to show what our brothers and sisters from across the pond are doing to their Corvettes.

We heard back in January that GM was considering adding a program that would allow owners the opportunity to build the engine that would be installed in their new Corvette. Yesterday, GM announced that the Corvette Engine Build Program would be available starting in 2011 for customers who order a Corvette Z06 or ZR1.

Company That Made First Corvette Bodies Profiled

Here is a neat video package from WKYC that profiles Molded Fiberglass Companies based in Ashtabula, Ohio. MFG was founded in 1948 by Robert Morrison who initially was using glass reinforced plastic to make shelves for Wonder Bread. Morrison recognized the many benefits of fiberglass and made several attempts to convince GM that it was suitable for automotive bodies. In 1953 following the introduction of the Corvette at the Motorama show in New York City, GM gave MFG the contract to build the bodies for the Corvette.
