A 2011 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe will serve as the Pace Car for Sunday’s Brickyard 400. This is the 18th consecutive year that Chevy will be pacing the event and it’s at least the sixth straight year that the pace car was a Corvette. [VIDEO] Morning Donuts: Jetstream Blue 2008 Corvette in the Driveway

This video of a driver doing donuts in his driveway is one of the best I’ve seen lately and it sure started my day with a smile. And what’s not to love about a burnout video with a rocking soundtrack, multiple camera angles and a slow-mo replay! Plus if you see that basketball hoop in the back, there is the element of danger that the backend of the Corvette would swing around and wack it. But this driver’s car control skills are excellent and the only “damage” was the burnt rubber left on the driveway.

Tintek is a company out of the Czech Republic that has developed a real skill in the vinyl wrapping of sports cars. And while the latest trend in vinyl wrapping seems to be matte colors, Tintek goes the complete opposite with their fleet of sports cars wrapped in chrome. [PICS] 2011 Brickyard 400 Grand Sport Corvette Festival Car

Since the first race at the Indianapolis 500 Motor Speedway in 1994, the Brickyard 400 has grown into one of NASCAR’s biggest events. For the five years, Corvette has led the pack as the pace car including last year’s race that was paced by the Bowling Green Metallic Grand Sport. This year’s Pace Car will be announced tomorrow at a special event, but we did find Corvettes and Camaros serving at “Festival Cars” which are the vehicles driven by track officials and other luminaries.

[VIDEO] LMR Tests Their Texas Mile Twin Turbo Corvette in GM's Wind Tunnel

Back in May, Late Model Racecraft’s twin-turbo Corvette set the standing mile record at the Texas Mile with a run of 231 mph. The team obviously feels they can get more out of their Corvette so they took the car up to Detroit where it was put in GM’s famous wind tunnel for aero testing.

Corvette Hospitality Day at Waterford Hills Raceway

Article and photos contributed by Steve Burns

We stopped by Corvette Hospitality Day last Saturday at Waterford Hills Raceway just north of Detroit. The annual event is sponsored by Cauley Performance Automotive, Southern Motors, and DJ Race Enterprise. The relaxing day gives Corvette aficionados the opportunity to chat with other enthusiasts, drive some parade laps on the track, and to just sit back and enjoy some great local club racing featuring, of course, Corvettes in addition to a few other classes.
