1959 Corvette Barn Car Found in Wisconsin

by Keith Cornett on September 21, 2010

1959 Corvette Barn Car

Here is a fairly original 1959 Corvette that was stored away in a barn somewhere in Wisconsin since the mid-sixties. The Corvette was recently willed to a nephew following the death of the owner and the nephew’s friend shared these pictures on the Corvette Forum. Many times, we’ll see barn cars only after they’ve been pulled out of their cocoon so it’s great to see the new owner documenting the classic C1 straight-axle in its surroundings where its been stored for 40+ years.

Corvettes on eBay: 2008 550+ HP Supercharged Corvette

I was perusing the Corvettes on eBay (over 1,400 Corvettes for sale btw) a little after midnight and came across this stunning custom Corvette coupe. The combination silver/black matte custom paint immediately jumped off the screen to grab my attention. Black Matte seems to be all the rage currently and this Corvette pulls it off brilliantly. Check out more pics and additional information after the jump.

1967 L88 Shriner Corvette at Mecum's St. Charles Auction

Our favorite non-original L88 Shriner Corvette is back on the market again. The 1967 “L88″ Shriner COPO Corvette crossed the block at Mecum’s St. Charles auction on Saturday where it reached a high bid of $80,000 but failed to reach its reserve price. Longtime readers of CorvetteBlogger may recognize this as the same car whose listing on eBay in December 2005 was pulled after the Corvette community challenged the sale as a real-deal L88 Corvette.

Cool DIY Mod: Paint Your Corvette Grand Sport Emblems

Corvette Forum member “Bunker” has a red Corvette Grand Sport with Competition Gray wheels and fender hash marks. Not really liking the chrome Grand Sport emblem on the front quarter panels, Bunker purchased an extra set and got to work. Although he admits its not the closest in paint matching, its does provide his Grand Sport Corvette coupe a look different than stock.

[VIDEO] Marriage Proposal Features a Convertible Corvette and the Indy 500

The hopeless romantic in me just loved this feature. Austin Dillman suprises his race-loving girlfriend Sheri with a marriage proposal “on the bricks” of the Indy 500 the day before the big race. With help from Hare Chevrolet, GM, the Indy 500 and driver Tony Kanaan, Austin’s proposal was well received. Check out the video after the jump to see how he pulled it off.

Corvette Enthusiast Is Latest Casualty in Automotive Magazine Consolidation

Corvette Enthusiast becomes the latest Corvette magazine to close shop and merge with one of its sister publications. That’s according to an email that was sent on Friday to article contributors by Amos Automotive Publishing. The email announced a new title from Amos called Auto Enthusiast and then dropped the bomb that its seven automotive niche publications which include titles aimed at Corvette, Chevy, Mustang, Mopar and Pontiac enthusiasts would be consolidated under the new title.
