[VIDEO] Rossi 66 at the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise

by Keith Cornett on August 21, 2013

It’s been a while since we’ve had a Rossi 66 sighting, but here is a Pearl White Rossi 66 cruising Woodward Blvd in Detroit during August 2013′s DreamCruise.

Although the concept for the Rossi appeared first back in 2008, it took another two years for an actual car to be built. We believe this is the same Rossi 66 (or SixtySix) that made its debut at the EyesOn Design benefit in Detroit during the summer of 2010.

[UPDATE] The Electric C3 Corvette Hits the Road

We first told you about Keith Stegath’s electric C3 Corvette back in December of 2011. Now, nearly 2 years later, the battery powered 1976 Corvette continues to take shape. In fact, Stegath told us in a recent email that the car’s first test drive was a 10 mile jaunt to a nearby car show. He also reports that he made it home that day without the need for a tow truck.

We all know that Corvettes draw attention wherever they go.

Just ask the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina.

[PIC] C7 Corvette Stingray Racer Homage Concept Design

I had an epiphany last August after a visit to the GM Heritage Center. As I laid my eyes on the 1959 Corvette Stingray Racer, I knew right then that it was my favorite Corvette design of all time. So how cool is it to see a modern take on the classic Stingray Racer with this rendering by car enthusiast and designer Giovanni Huang.

The Epic Journey of C.J. Titterington and His 1963 Corvette Z06

We all have heard numerous fascinating stories about the history, performance and build specifications of found then often restored Corvettes over the last several years.

“Barn find” cars of all types are always special and it seems that Terry Michaelis’ has had more than his share of interesting barn-find Corvettes, finding two 1963 Z06′s with race histories within the same year. After selling the first barn find, Michaelis began an impeccable restoration on his second race Z06 discovery, the car originally campaigned by Dick Lang in the early 60′s. This 1963 Corvette Z06 was found in a barn less than twenty miles from Dick Lang’s original Chevrolet dealership, and today, following Michaelis’ impeccable restoration, at a cost of over $200,000, it is now being shown and winning concours throughout the country.

But perhaps an equally, if not more interesting story is the story of C.J. Titterington’s 1963 Z06 race car which will be displayed along side of Terry Michaelis’ Z06 at the upcoming Concours d’Elegance of America in Michigan.

Michigan Corvette Owner Readyto Show His Custom 1981 Corvette at Saginaw's Old Town Motorfest

Matt Rodriguez made it back more than 40 years ago from Vietnam, where he worked as a crew chief on a chopper.

After he returned to the States in 1970, he began a 30-year career with General Motors in the tool and dye department. That’s when he also started his long love affair with Corvettes, picking up a used 1968 model that he later sold to buy a new 1980.

“When you are young, everyone wants a Corvette, and I had an opportunity,” Rodriguez said.
