[PICS] 2013 Corvette ZR1 in Night Race Blue with 60th Anniversary Stripe

Longtime Corvette Museum supporter Harvey Gluck just picked up his 63rd Corvette and this one is a stunner. It’s a 2013 Corvette ZR1 in Night Race Blue with a 60th Anniversary stripe running down the body. Harvey was presented with the ZR1 at the National Corvette Museum by Corvette Marketing Manager John Fitzpatrick.

Back in the first part of 2011, ProTeam Corvette Sales posted an article on their website seeking more information on Dick Lang’s 1963 Corvette Z06 racer which they had recently discovered. After several months and a $224,000 Nabers Brothers restoration, they unveiled the recently completed car last weekend during a NCRS-sponsored Corvette Seminar at their Napoleon, Ohio facility. This was the first time it had been seen by the public since being returned to its Daytona racing livery.

Man Builds Replica Speed Racer Mach 5's from C4 Corvettes

Corvette enthusiasts are pretty serious about America’s sports car, but car customizer Mark Towle really takes his love for his favorite car to a whole ‘nother level.

You see, when he was a child, Towle watched the famous Japanese cartoon show Speed Racer religiously. “I’ve seen all 53 episodes,” he says, “including one that was never aired; it was supposed to be the first episode of the next season, but the show got canceled.”

All grown up now, as the owner of his own car customizing business, Towle’s living a childhood dream – making his living by building replicas of Speed Racer’s car, the Mach 5, which start about at $72,500. Not bad for the ultimate boy racer, huh?

Mark Carlyles Twin-Turbo C6 Corvette Sets IRS and LSX Records at the World Cup Finals

Mark Carlyle and his twin-turbo, atomic orange C6 Corvette just keep getting better and better.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t have a win to show for his outstanding performances.

In late October, Carlyle dropped below the 7 second mark with a record 6.99 time (at a record-setting 209 mph) in the semifinals of the LSX Drag Radial Class. But Carlyle ended up losing in the finals to Mark Brown.

In the late 1970′s the 3rd generation Corvette was languishing thanks to an aging platform and new government emissions and fuel economy requirements. Eager gearheads would do just about anything to make their ride stand out from the crowd. Enter customizer Les Dunham and the Corvette Caballista. His Dunham Coach Motor Car Company built just 50 Caballistas between 1977 and 1982. The example seen here is a later model based on 1982 Collector Edition Corvette.
