If you’ve been around the Corvette hobby long, I’m sure you’ll recognize the artwork from the very talented Scott Teeters whose work appears in Vette Magazine as well as online at the IllustratedCorvetteSeries.com. Scott and his wife Karen have recently launched a new Corvette blog called the Corvette Report and to help promote the site, they are offering a free copy of the Illustrated Corvette Engine Spotter’s Guide.
Looking for something cool to do for New Years? Bob Bondurant’s School of High Performance Driving has opened up registration for their popular New Year’s Eve Rapid Precision Maneuvers (RPM) event on Thursday, December 31, 2009 from 8 am to 12 noon. The New Year’s RPM program is a four-hour course featuring a timed autocross even, accident avoidance and lead and follow time on the 15-turn, 1.6-mile Bondurant track.
DigitalCorvettes.com Founder Patrick Gramm premiered the first episode of his new online show “Vette Garage: The Series” last week with the film crew visiting Pfadt Race Engineering in Utah. The new series has all the typical elements found on reality shows including the drama of faulty tire pressure gauges! High production values and a corvette-performance theme will make this new show from the creator of “Vette Girl” and “Vette Dogs” a must watch!
Back in May we revealed the Corvette Dream Giveaway raffle to benefit the Kids Wish Network was pairing a unique 1 of 1 Hero Edition Corvette ZR1 with a classic 1967 Corvette Convertible that will be given away to one lucky winner on Christmas day. While the focus on that blog post was the special edition Corvette ZR1, we thought it appropriate to take a closer look at the big block Sting Ray that will also be given away to help make a child’s dream come true.
Looking for the ultimate Christmas gift for your junior Corvette enthusiast this year? Look no further than Hammacher Schlemmer’s 35 MPH Junior C1 Corvette. The 2/3 scale gasoline powered replica of a 1956 Corvette is an impressive recreation of the first Corvette to race at Sebring.
The guys at CarCrazyDesks.com have found several new uses for the rear fascias of C5 and C6 Corvettes. Not only are they fabricating custom desks, but you’ll also find shelves, bars, liquor cabinets and my personal favorite, the Corvette barbeque grill. The desks have working lights and are available in different finished and colors. A great gift idea for sure, but it’s not cheap. Price for a C6 desk is $2300 with all the options. Check out the gallery after the jump.
Remember that custom 1968 Corvette we featured on our Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Results post? Turns out the telephone bidder who paid $198,000 for the 510/660 hp roadster was none other than Sylvester Stallone. He apparently has already taken possession of the vette and was seen cruising Santa Monica in Beverly Hills.

Scott Cole from VetteBlock.com sent me a list of questions yesterday for an interview that was just published on the Corvette social networking site. Check it out!
The Corvette headstone was spotted by a Jalopnik reader in a rural Indiana town in front of a monument business. Etched in the granite is a 2007 Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car. You’re a true enthusiast if you spring for this eternal mod.
Many of the Corvette Caravans that are or have already converged on Bowling Green took a circuitous route in getting to the NCM which allowed owners to see some historic landmarks and show off their love of America’s sports car. The Indiana Caravan was no exception as members took a some parade laps around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway prior to hitting Interstate 65 for the trip South to Kentucky.
These pictures come from Jeff Wagner, a regular visitor to CorvetteBlogger.com. He is pictured below with his wife Renee and his Nassau Blue C5 Corvette:
Thanks for the pictures, Jeff!
