Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 1960 Briggs Cunningham Corvette

Earlier this month, the 1960 #3 Briggs Cunningham Corvette and driver John Fitch returned to Le Mans to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the car’s win in the GT class and 8th place finish overall. In honor of this special day, Corvette enthusiasts across the United States are encouraged to make America’s sports car their commuter car for the day. Governor Signs Bill Naming Corvette Official Sport Car for the State of Kentucky

With hundreds of Corvette plant assembly workers looking on, Governor Beshear signed into law House Bill #104 declaring the Chevrolet Corvette the Official Sports Car of the State of Kentucky. Gov Beshear appropriately used an Arctic White Corvette ZR1 as his podium for the signing event at the assembly plant.

Jeff Gordon Drives a Corvette ZR1 around the Monticello Motor Club

The Monticello Motor Club is a new private race resort facility built on 650 acres in Monticello, New York – just 90 minutes outside of New York City. One of the configurations is a 3.5 mile road course consisting of 18 turns, 1.5 miles of straights and 450 feet total elevation changes. Today we find MMC member Jeff Gordon rocking a Corvette ZR1 at speeds up to 150 mph around the new track.

Since the introduction of the dual mode performance exhaust on Z06 Corvettes back in 2006, owners have been doing this very simple mod to keep the NPP’s butterfly valves open so they can enjoy that deep exhaust rumble all the time.
