[VIDEO] The Rossi SixtySix Corvette Visits Jay Leno's Garage

The Rossi SixtySix and its designer David R paid a visit to Jay Leno’s garage for some quality time with the late night host. Longtime readers of CorvetteBlogger know of our affection for the retro-looking rebodied C6 that the Rossi SixtySix inspires. But now the SixtySix’s first real test comes from a passionate Corvette enthusiast whose collection focuses more on later model performance than classic midyear fiberglass.

[PICS] Mecum Auctions the Bob McDorman Collection

Pictures Contributed by Steve Burns

Chevrolet dealer Bob McDorman spent years assembling one of the finest and most diverse collections of Corvettes. With models spanning each year of production from 1953 through 2009, Bob also sought out low VIN Corvettes, pace cars and Corvettes previously owned by GM executives and celebrities. In addition to his Corvettes, Bob’s collection also featured other Chevrolets and tons of memoriabilia that only a dealer could assemble.

Check out our gallery of photos from the Bob McDorman Auction after the jump.

Lawrence Welk Edition C5 Corvette Shows Unique Features

Here is one customized Corvette you won’t see a SEMA. With the demographics of Corvette owners trending older, I’m sure this won’t be the last Corvette to feature a scooter carrier. Hands down, the kicker of the photo is the “BYE” handicap vanity license plate which shows the owner not only has their faculties, but a keen sense of humor as well.

What Have You Hauled In, On or With Your Corvette?

C4 Corvette Gets Luggage Rack Upgrade

Admit it. Most of us that drive our Corvettes regularly have had the experience of having to transport a bulky item and your Corvette is the only car available. Others choose to do by towing campers or small trailers. I came across this enterprising owner this weekend traveling south on I75 in Ocala, Florida with a solution to storage space or lack thereof in an early C4 Corvette. The best part of this solution? He was doing an easy 80 mph and the heavy traffic was no problem for the less than aerodynamic Greenwood-kitted Corvette.

Last Baldwin-Motion Phase III GT Corvette Found

Last Baldwin-Motion Phase III GT Corvette Found

Joel Rosen’s east coast-based Motion Performance Speed Shop was legendary for building unbeatable muscle cars in the Sixties and seventies. Teaming up with Baldwin Chevrolet, customers could order a Corvette which would be torn down and rebuilt into an 11.5 second drag car, complete with factory warranty.

One the creations of Rosen was the Phase III GT which made its debut at the International Auto Show in New York City in April, 1969. Motion Performance would build just 12 of the 500+ horsepower grand touring Corvettes with the last one leaving the shop in 1971. That last Phase III GT Corvette was recently purchased from the family of the original owner and has been restored back to original condition and will be displayed at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals in November.
