For years Corvette experts, restorers, and judges have debated the topic of engine stamp pads. Who would have thought that such a small area of metal with some numbers stamped in it could cause so much debate? As the Corvette hobby and vehicle values have grown there’s been an increasing focus on OEM stamps from the plant versus restoration restamps and outright fraud. In response to all the discussions, Bloomington Gold has come up with a series of standards to address this controversial topic.
With the 2013 model year being both the 60th anniversary of the Corvette as well as the C6′s final year of production, it has been widely anticipated that Chevrolet will offer something special for Corvette enthusiasts. This morning the rumors of anniversary packages and a new special model have been answered as we are very excited to introduce the 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition as well as the all new 2013 60th Anniversary package.

Corvette fans can breathe a sigh of relief now that John Fitch, driver of the 1960 Briggs Cunningham Le Mans winning Corvette and the first manager for the Corvette racing team, has been found since being reported missing on Sunday.

Evan Thomason was 10 years old when he lost his battle against cancer on September 22. While the medical and research staff at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was not able to save Evan, they managed to give him five years he might not have otherwise had with family and friends.
With the blessing of his mom Melissa, Corvette Forum will dedicate its fundraising efforts for St. Jude during the next year to the memory of Evan, who touched so many people with his courage, positive attitude and joy for living. Some of you had the chance to meet Evan and Melissa when you visited Memphis for the annual Corvetteforum visit to St. Jude, others know about him from what they have read about Evan on Corvette Forum. For those who didn’t know Evan, this thread, and this video will give you some insight.
It’s safe to say that the GoPro HD cameras that you can attach to your cars via a suction cup has revolutionized the way drivers immortalize their exploits behind the wheel. While the handy little plastic-encased cameras are mostly used for capturing burnouts, club cruises and the occasional accident, we’re surprised we don’t see more of this – GoPro equipped Corvettes getting pulled over by the Man!
Let’s kick off 2012 right with a morning burnout courtesy of Lew Stitely’s 1953 Corvette gasser dubbed the Tijuana Taxi. This classic first-year Corvette was doing its thing out at Beaver Springs Dragway in PA and the video features several awesome burnouts, dry hops and a nine second quarter-mile run!
The team at Bloomington Gold has announced that beginning in 2013 the annual Bloomington Gold Corvette show will be held in Champaign, Illinois on the campus of the University of Illinois. The new location is about 50 miles southeast of where the show was first born back in 1973.
Our Christmas tradition continues with the 7th annual repost of “Twas The Night Before Christmas – Corvette Style”. The Corvette remix of this holiday classic continues to be one of our favorite posts.
