The National Corvette Museum has announced the names of four inductees into the 2012 Corvette Hall of Fame. GM/Chevrolet’s Gary Claudio, Founding NCM Member Patrick Dolan, Chevrolet dealer Bob McDorman and former Corvette Racing driver Andy Pilgrim. The Class of 2012 will be inducted on August 30th, 2012 at the National Corvette Museum.

We can debate all day long on whether the ability to slide your car around corners with the tires spinning and a huge cloud of smoke is a real form of “racing”. But where we will probably find agreement in is that the art of drifting is definitely something that takes a lot of practice to do right. The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah has spent many hours behind the wheel of various autos and even he admitted to not having a clue on how to properly drift. So he headed to the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving where Formula Drift newcomer Corey Hosford was ready for a full day of instruction.
I was perusing the web late last week when I came upon this beautifully customized Corvette Grand Sport from The Corvette Guys at Purifoy Chevrolet in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Each year, Purifoy takes 3 or 4 Corvettes out of their general dealer stock and transforms them into unique, custom creations. This 2012 Grand Sport was dressed up and put on display at the Greybeard Creme de la Chrome car show at the Denver Convention Center.

Last weekend hundreds of the country’s finest Corvettes, muscle cars, and customs stormed into Chicago for the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. We had a blast on our inaugural trip to this show. This weekend over 500 Corvettes, muscle cars, and customs will rumble into Chicago for the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. The 2-day spectacular will take place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont this Saturday and Sunday November 19th and 20th. The show runs from 9am-9pm on Saturday and 9am-5pm on Sunday.
