[VIDEO] Peter Max Corvette Collection to be Sold at Auction

For years, Corvette enthusiasts have been intrigued by the Peter Max Corvettes, that collection of 36 Corvettes owned by the pop art star who became famous in the 1960s.

The Corvettes, one each from 1953 through 1989, were the grand prize in a VH1 contest back in 1989, with a carpenter from Long Island chosen as the lucky winner.

DVR ALERT: Corvette Nation TV Show Begins Second Season on Saturday Morning on Velocity

Our friends at Corvette Nation TV have been busy filming at various Corvette shows across the country this summer and the new season will kick-off this Saturday morning at 10 AM ET on the Velocity Network. If you haven’t been watching the only cable TV show solely focused on the Chevrolet Corvette and the hobby that surrounds it, now is your chance!

In the first episode of Corvette Nation’s second season, the show’s hosts Maria Prekeges, Bill Stephens and Michael Brown take a visit to the National Corvette Museum’s 20th Anniversary and the grand opening of the new NCM Motorsports Park.

Check out this cool video of a 1964 Corvette Restomod that was submitted by a reader. His dad’s Corvette was recently featured in Super Chevy Magazine:

The idea of this video was derived from Rob at Underground Racing. Video is of my fathers 1964 Corvette Stingray, which has been referred to as “Stepchild’s Revenge.” It made the cover of the December issue of Vette Magazine. This was made for my video production class at school. I have a passion for making car videos and hopefully one day work for a big automobile corporation.

We assume the “stepchild” in the title refers to the nickname many have given the 1964 Corvette. With an LS7 under the hood, we see how this midyear model dishes out its revenge! Thanks for sharing Kyle and great job on the video!

2014 Corvette Stingray Production Statistics

It was back in August that we learned the General Motors produced 37,288 Corvette Stingray for the 2014 model year and now we’ve got the breakdown on the production statistics.

Leading the way was the Corvette Z51 Coupe which accounted for 41% of the models built and the most popular color was Torch Red which can be found on nearly one of out of five (19%) 2014 Corvette Stingrays.
