At first glance you might think the Corvette’s driver was doing something stupid and the end result was this damaged car. Our Corvette accidents category is filled with similar tales. That wasn’t the case here as this C4 Corvette was just tending to his own business when he became tangled up in three car incident on Long Island.
Corvette Accidents, Crashes and Wrecks
Nothing breaks our heart more than to see a Corvette that was involved in an accident.
We’re not sure what sparked the fire that caused this torch red C5 Z06 to burn to the ground, and the original poster didn’t say, but judging by the way the flames are dancing along the ground, it definitely looks fuel related. A lot of money went into this car for the opportunity to play in the 1000 hp club and in just a few minutes it was all gone.
KMBC in Kansas City had this report about a Corvette that crashed into a house. The Corvette’s driver apparently was running from a routine police stop. After turning onto a small back road off Highway 150, the driver lost control and hit a tree which launched the Corvette airborne. Police found the wrecked Corvette on the front porch of a home.
This “head-turning” traffic accident in El Cajon, California caught our attention as the picture shows the rear-ending of Dodge Neon by an Arctic White C6 Corvette with the Neon actually coming to rest on the hood of America’s favorite sports car. No one was injured in the accident which was allegedly caused by the Corvette driver talking on a cell phone.
Corvette owners have many options when it comes to insuring their Collector vehicle. We believe that knowledge is power when it comese to making an informed decision which is why we spoke to the NCM Insurance Agency’s Adam Boca about the services offered from the Corvette Museum’s in-house insurance agency and how their programs are a win-win for both members and the Museum.
I’m not gonna lie. This video is a hard one to watch. The owner of C5 Corvette gets turned around and bangs into a wall somewhere on Chicago’s Dan Ryan Expressway. He may have thought his bad luck would end there, but he’s about to find out first hand the damage that can be done to a Corvette by a tow truck operator who’s primary mission is to clear the road, not the care and safety of the C5 Corvette in his possession.
When you see the enormity of this crash on video, its amazing that the driver not only lived, but walked away. With 1,400 awe-inspiring horsepower on tap, the Hinson Motorsports twin turbo Corvette Z06 was on its way to breaking speed records at the Texas Mile this weekend when the car left the runway at 230 mph, flipping once and coming to rest on its wheels in the grass.
This video is mostly off-topic when it comes to Corvettes (although a Corvette is seen at the beginning). Watching these guys race and you have to wonder if they weren’t all just a little crazy. Other than wearing helmets, safety equipment was pretty much non-existent. No roll bars, no seat belts, no fire-suppression systems. Check it out but be warned, some of these crashes couldn’t have ended well.
This Corvette Z06 crashed into a light pole in Culver City, California the other night. The driver ran from the scene and when police arrived, the Vette was engulfed in flames. Stolen or not, I’m thinking the cops will be able to sort this out quickly. In the meantime, grab your marshmallows and watch this C6 burn.
