Corvettes on eBay: 1968 Monster Corvette 4x4

A couple of years ago, a buddy of mine sold his 1997 Corvette.

Well, the new owner decided he really wanted a pickup instead of a ‘Vette so he wound up taking a loss a few weeks later and sold it to me to get a truck.

Too bad this unusual creation wasn’t available in 2012. It might have been just the ticket for that unhappy Corvette owner!

If you want a 4×4 with a touch of Corvette, then Wildcat Automotive (which claims “Off Road Is Our Road” as its slogan) out of the United Kingdom has just the thing for you.

It’s a Rover Defender with the same kind of LS3 small block 6.2-liter V8 that powered the C6 Chevrolet Corvette so admirably from 2005 to 2013.

The lifted 4 x 4 Corvette: It’s the perfect antithesis to everything America’s sports car has represented since 1953. They’re existence twists your mind like an episode of ABC’s Lost or the first time you heard Mike Tyson talk. We hadn’t seen one of these brutes turn up online for a while until this yellow C3 showed up at Crusin’ the Coast on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Chevrolet built 46,558 Corvettes for the 1976 model year. Of those, 3,389 were painted Bright Yellow. 0 were 4 wheel drive.

Now they’re looking for some more modified Corvettes for this year’s show – 4×4 Corvettes. Yes, you read that correctly.

Corvettes on Craigslist: Custom 1980 Corvette 4X4

For the guy that wants the great looks and curves that late C3 Corvettes are known for, but still wants to maintain that “I can go anywhere” mentality that a four-wheel drive vehicle offers no matter what the road conditions are, I present to you this 1980 Corvette 4×4 that was recently spotted for sale on Craigslist.

1964 Corvette 4x4 AMC

Fate sure dealt a hand to this 1964 Corvette convertible. The car was the unfortunate target of a custom conversion back the 80’s which saw the Sting Ray’s body mated to a Jeep 4×4 chassis. To add insult to injury, the Corvette is now powered by an AMC V8 instead of its trusty Chevy 350. But who are we to judge a car on its minor imperfections. It hasn’t stopped the ebayers as the Corvette has 15 bids with the high bid at $4500. Shows that you can slap a Corvette on just about anything and it will sell.

The Corvette is being sold as a parts car as it has no title. But the seller claims the VIN and trim gags are intact in case you wanted to try. I was somewhat surprised to see a mid-year convertible top. The interior is fairly stock but in pretty rough shape. I don’t ever see this Corvette being returned to former glory.

The eBay auction closes Thursday, July 31st. The $4,500 high bid appears to have surpassed the reserve price.
