Get Those Convertible Tops in Shape for Summer with Corvette Central

Now that Spring is well underway and summer is just around the corner, our friends at Corvette Central say this is a great time to talk about your Corvette’s convertible top. From the beginning, Corvettes were designed first as a Convertible model, and one of the great rites of ownership is your ability to drop the top and enjoy that open air driving experience. Hearing your Corvette with the wind in your face as you shift through the gears is a magical experience, and if your convertible top isn’t able to handle the elements to protect your car while out on the road, it’s time to call Corvette Central!

[POLL] Which New Corvette Will Earn Your Business When the V8 is Phased Out?

Life after V8s. It’s a sobering thought, but it’s also a reality that even the thundering Corvette, its makers, and its customer base will eventually have to contend with. Fortunately, America’s Sports Car and the other icon from across town are the betting favorites to play home to the “last V8 standing.” Not all nameplates that draw so much of their identity from the glory of the bent-eight are so lucky, though. In recent months, we’ve been introduced to two new versions of models that were forced to relinquish their predecessor’s trademark exhaust burble, but they’ve gone about addressing this loss in vastly different ways. These divergent paths to V8 replacement piqued our curiosity about how the Corvette’s massive fan/client network would react to different paths that General Motors could choose for its halo car when the legendary LT engine family reaches the end of the line. Before soliciting your feedback, though, let’s explore these paths and the new cars/case studies that will be treading them in the very near future.

It was back in February that the Corvette Assembly Plant ended public tours for “manufacturing advancements” as we were told. Many of us were speculating that plant workers could now test the assembly process for the upcoming C8 Corvette ZR1s by sending a few pre-production cars down the assembly line. Well, we weren’t wrong as some internal GM paperwork shows at least 21 Corvette ZR1 “EX” cars have been completed.

These are the matchups we’ve have been waiting to see!

For almost the entire life of this blog, which is going on 19 years this August, we’ve seen the Nissan GTR absolutely destroy the Corvette at the drag strip. Nissan’s Godzilla was one of the first OGs to feature both an All-Wheel-Drive configuration and a launch control system. When it showed up at the track, it was to be feared as much as a Tesla Plaid is today. Back in the day, if you were facing Godzilla, you’re most likely going to see taillights…

Andrew at Complete Street Performance got their 2024 Corvette E-Ray and before he throws any mods on it, he takes the car to the track for some baseline quarter mile pulls. The car was literally broken in on the way to the track, and it crossed the 500 mile threshold just before they arrived.

Corvette Order Constraints for the April 18th Ordering Cycle

It’s Thursday and that means we are in the midst of yet another Corvette order cycle. Dealers got their allocations (or estimated shipments) last week which contained only Stingrays and Z06s, and today the order banks opened up for them to match those allocations to customer orders and submit them to General Motors. Many dealers who do not have customers still lined up are still accepting those allocations and placing dealer stock orders for inventory.
