The Michigan Mile was held over the weekend on an airport runway in Battle Creek. One of the participants was driving this Silver Corvette ZR1 and according to Jalopnik, after make a couple “ludicrously fast runs”, the driver did a burnout and apparently crashed into another vehicle.

So far no video has surfaced of the burnout gone bad, but this is what was said to have happened to the Silver ZR1 after making one of the high speed runs:

It wasn’t donuts at all. He finished his lap, came around to do a burn out for the crowd and due to the lower quality pavement on the taxi way he power shifted, lost control and struck a vehicle. Everyone is okay and racing is a go.

We don’t know what kind of vehicle the ZR1 ran into, but whatever it was, it was pretty solid based on the extensive damage to the $120,000 Chevy supercar. PowerBlockTV.com reports that the ZR1 hit the car of a volunteer helping with the event, and the crash sent that volunteer to the hospital to be checked out.

Prior to the accident, the modified ZR1 did have some decent runs. Here’s video showing a successful burnout to warm the tires and then the run down the airport runway with Performance Traction Management engaged.
