Mid America Motorworks Planning 60 Days of Corvettes to Celebrate the Mark's 60th Anniversary

It’s not every day that someone turns 60, and when that “someone” is the Chevrolet Corvette, everyone wants to get in on the action.

Mid America Motorworks, a long-time supporter of the Corvette, has already started the party for its favorite car, and you don’t even have to leave home to take part in the fun.

“Corvette’s 60th Anniversary will only come around once and we want all enthusiasts to be able to participate in celebrating America’s Sports Car,” said Mike Yager, founder and Chief Cheerleader of Mid America Motorworks. “These activities and events will allow all Corvette owners to celebrate the anniversary without going to a large show.”

For starters, all Corvette owners and enthusiasts are invited to submit a photo of them enjoying their Corvettes, with a chance to be featured on Mid America’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mamotorworks.

The company will feature a different Corvette photo every day, beginning on May 1 and continuing through June 30, the 60th birthday of America’s Favorite Sports Car.

Submissions are being accepted through April 30 for the promotion, which is being called “60 Corvettes for Corvette’s 60th Birthday.” Photos will be chosen at random from all entries.

But that’s definitely not all.

The second stage of the party will be the 13th Annual Drive Your Corvette to Work Day, which is sponsored by Mid America and will be held Friday, June 28. The day aims to have as many Corvettes as possible on the road that day, creating a traveling tribute to the Corvette. You’re encouraged to post photos of your own work commute on the Mid America Facebook page to be part of the DYCTWD 2013 photo album.

Finally, on Sunday, June 30, Mid America Motorworks is inviting all Corvette clubs and enthusiasts to get together for a soundoff at 12 noon. “Whether you have a barbecue with your Club and sound off together or you rev your engine at noon in your driveway, let’s make sure Corvettes are heard across the country in recognition of this historic event,” a Mid America spokesman said.

You can take part in all three activities at the Mid America Facebook page.
