[ACCIDENT] C5 Corvette vs Utility Pole in Ohio

This yellow C5 Corvette will need repair work to the hood, bumper, and fender after the driver smashed it into a utility pole on Saturday afternoon.

Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported in the one-vehicle crash, which occurred at 5:10 p.m. Saturday on state Route 65, just north of the intersection of state Route 47 near Port Jefferson, Ohio.

However, the accident did knock out power to 133 DP&L customers for a while, with electricity flowing again by 9:30 Saturday night.

No word on the cause of the crash, which is still under investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. Also responding to the call were the Maplewood Fire Department and Perry Port Salem Rescue.

  1. Yeah sure it’s not his fault can you believe the pole just got up and jumped right in front of him. Fucking jerk off!

  2. I bought a new 2000 C5 Corvette coupe – same Millennium Yellow – five years later I was rear-ended by a hit & run driver. Vette was totaled and all I had was minor soft tissue damage.

The good news is that the C6 was just coming out – yup I bought it & yup same color coupe. I still have it with about 56K miles – will keep it I guess another a year or so.

  3. Seems like a lot of Corvettes meet their demise in single vehicle accidents. Too much power for the average driver? Maybe drivers should be required to obtain additional training and a higher class of driver’s licence before being allowed to drive high horsepower vehicles like Corvettes.
