Two longtime collector car enthusiasts may have passed away, but their legacy keeps rolling on, thanks to their friends at Barrett-Jackson and others.

Company Chairman Craig Jackson and his wife, Carolyn, who serves as vice president of Brand Strategy, were so touched by the passing of their good friends Dave Ressler and Greg Mauzy that they decided to honor the two men by sponsoring a year-long campaign to raise funds and awareness for heart disease and stroke.

Called “Driven Hearts,” the campaign has already raised more than $350,000 at the January Scottsdale auction, where the Jacksons auctioned off their own 35th Anniversary 1988 Corvette – twice – as the winning bidder was inspired to re-donate the car.

And, a Texas couple, Darrell and Charmaigne Pullen, were watching the charity sale on TV in January and were so touched that they flew to Arizona and donated their own matching 35th Anniversary Corvette to the cause. That Corvette will be auctioned at an upcoming sale.

The Jackson’s white-out 1988 35th Anniversary Corvette will be auctioned off Saturday afternoon around 5:30 pm ET during the 16th annual Palm Beach auction with all proceeds again going to Driven Hearts.

“The collector car community has the biggest heart for supporting organizations dedicated to making our world a better, healthier place,” Carolyn Jackson said. “It was a tremendous honor to host Nancy Brown, CEO of the American Heart Association, in Scottsdale as we kicked off our Driven Hearts campaign, and we are overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of our bidders in Scottsdale, as well as the Pullens for donating their personal car to support this tremendous cause.”

Marketing efforts for the Driven Hearts will include stroke-awareness signage around the venue promoting FAST, the AHA’s acronym for Facial drooping, Arm tingling, Speech impairment, Time to call 911.
