[PICS] The Vanity Plates of Corvettes at Carlisle 2017

OK, quick show of hands. Who remembers the late 80’s game show Bumper Stumpers? In the series that ran for 3 seasons, contestants competed to win prizes by figuring out what custom license plates said. Although we don’t have any prizes to give away, we are happy to bring you the Corvette Vanity plates of Corvettes at Carlisle.

2017 marks our 6th edition of Carlisle vanity plates and each year we think the crop seems to get better and better. We still stand firm on our belief that Corvette owners can do more with 7 letters and/or numbers than anyone else on the planet.

As we wandered the sprawling Carlisle Fairgrounds looking at vanity plates, we were reminded of the tremendous following for Corvettes at Carlisle. We saw plates from all over the east coast including New York, South Carolina, and even Florida. We even found one car all the way from Quebec. Other cars were from Michigan, Illinois, and Kentucky.

It really is amazing to just how far people travel for Carlisle. Who even knows what states we didn’t see?

Some of our favorites this time included “MYFAST1” on a C7 Z06 parked right next to “MYSLOW1” on a 60th anniversary C6. “SO SAD” on a unique white 1954 with red convertible top left us confused. Who could possibly be sad owning a classic C1 Corvette? We also liked “BEESTING” on a bright yellow C7 Z06 and “FUN TOY” on a yellow C6. A 2004 Commemorative Edition C5 Z06 logically wore “04 Z16” while comic book fans will appreciate “LNTERN” on a Lime Rock Green C7.

So once again we salute Corvette owners and their never ending creativity when it comes to custom tags.
